Study Programme Synopsis

The programme creates conditions for employment of graduates in the sphere of electrochemical power engineering. The programme makes possible to carry out scientific and practical activities in the field of chemical engineering. The programme is performed in an active research environment and provides an opportunity to continue studying abroad in related fields, including "Lublin University of Technology" (Poland).

The compulsory condition is to speak Ukrainian and foreign languages fluently.

The admission to the 1st year of the Bachelor’s programme is on a competitive basis.

Programme aim:

 

Formation and development of general and professional competences in the field of electrochemistry, electrochemical peculiarities of electronically conducting polymers, novel composites based on graphite and carbonaceous materials, non-noble metal catalysts and other promised materials for lithium, lithium-ion, air-metal batteries, fuel cells, supercapacitors, electrochemical reactors, etc. aimed for obtaining the professional knowledge at an adequate world level.  Development of the key competencies those are necessary for self-realization, active citizenship, social harmony and employability in society. The leading research institutions of Ukrainian National Academy of Science, research centers from abroad, machine-building companies and enterprises, oil-and-gas-transport enterprises and numerous laboratories of the chemical and ecological control are interested in our graduates.

Learning outcomes:

Professional activity of prospective electrochemistry specialists can be performed in such areas:

  • development of new, production and improvement of existing power sources, including fuel cells, batteries, galvanic cells, supercapacitors;
  • monitoring of environmental pollution by toxic emissions;
  • development and implementation of new processes of electrochemical treatment of industrial waste;
  • the electrolytic production of high-purity metals;
  • obtaining the chemicals by electrolysis;
  • ensuring the corrosion resistance of metals and structures , including - gas, oil ;
  • applying decorative, protective and special metal coatings , manufacturing surface reflections,  complex shapes , which includes the needs of jewelry , decorative arts ;
  • miniature instruments ( electrochemical sensors , solions).
