On May 15, 2018 III International conference of international students “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education Space” was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design as a part of Europe Day and Ukrainian Science Day festivities.
The conference was held by Foreign Languages Department, Department of International Relations and Project Management Office of KNUTD. This remarkable meeting was organized with the support of Ukrainian State Center for International Education, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University (Vinnytsia), Kremenchuk Mykhailo Ostohradskyi National University, Kryvyi Rih National University, Taurida National V. I. Vernadsky University, "Ion Creanga" Pedagogical State University (Moldova), Academic Society of Michal Baludansky (Slovakia), Carolina Lanckoronska Cultural and Educational Center (Poland), Ukrainian-Chinese Center of Сulture and Education (China), Union of Azerbaijan Youth in Ukraine, International company "KITE – Art Management & Cultural Industry" (Azerbaijan).
The conference began with a welcome speech by the First Pro-Rector, Academician of National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences, Honoured Educator of Ukraine, Prof., Dr Ivan Gryshchenko. He presented the information about the history and the present of KNUTD, its achievements and awards and showed the potential of scientific development, attractiveness and competitiveness of international cooperation and training foreign students.
The conference followed by Shapovalova O.O., Director of Ukrainian State Center for International Education, Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine; Marc van den Muijzenberg, the Key Expert of the EU-funded project Association4U; Varchola M., President of Academic Society of Michal Baludansky; Buiak B.B., Rector of Ternopil Volodymyr Hnatiuk National Pedagogical University; Chicus N., Rector of "Ion Creanga" Pedagogical State University; Kruhlenko L.V., Head of Department of International Relations of Kryvyi Rih National University; Tometska M.D., President of Carolina Lanckoronska Cultural and Educational Center; Allahverdiyeva I., President of the Union of the Azerbaijani Youth in Ukraine; Shahbazov R., Chairman of the International company "ELFA". They welcomed all participants and wished them effective work, expressing hope for participants to be able to contribute to the crucial component to the university’s efforts training students for an increasingly diverse world. Communicating well across cultures and competing globally determine success; develop cultural awareness, critical thinking skills, and communicative proficiency essential to navigate in a complex global environment.
The conference was attended by students and representatives of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, National Aviation University, Kyiv National Linguistic University, Kryvyi Rih National University, Taurida National V. I. Vernadsky University, State Higher Education Institution “University of Educational Management” of National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, M. Tugan-Baranovsky Donetsk National University of Economics and Trade, Kherson State Agricultural University, Vasyl’ Stus Donetsk National University (Vinnytsia), Chernihiv National University of Technology, Yarmouk University (Jordan), Sichuan University (China), Academic Society of Michal Baludansky, Technical University of Kosice University of Central Europe, Istanbul University Language Centre.
Students from many countries such as the People's Republic of China, Bangladesh, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ecuador, Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Turkey, Turkmenistan, Iran, Libya, Morocco took part in the conference. The reports arouse the interest and active discussion of the participants and guests.
In general, more than 120 representatives of the faculty, young scientists and students from KNUTD, co-sponsoring universities, different Ukrainian regions and partner firms presented their papers. The meeting was held in the form of discussions, debates and exchanges of ideas.
The conference organizers awarded the most active participants with honorary diplomas. The concert concluded the conference.
