The main purpose of training in the specialty is the training and formation of competitive, highly qualified, creative specialists for the national and international labor markets, capable of solving complex practical problems during their professional activities in the hotel and restaurant business.
The main objectives training of entrepreneurial specialists who are able to solve complex specialized tasks and practical problems of the activities of the subjects of the hotel and restaurant business, which involves the use of theories and methods of the system of sciences that form the concepts of hospitality, managerial and entrepreneurial thinking.
International cooperation is realized through the participation of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business along with students in joint educational projects and international conferences, round tables, symposiums, international internships and more.
The department is constantly engaged in preparation of bachelors and masters in the Republics of Poland, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and others.
The main focus of the educational program: the emphasis is on the formation and development of a complex of analytical, entrepreneurial predictive, innovative abilities, professional competencies in the hotel and restaurant business, providing for certain employment and the possibility of further education and career growth. The educational program allows you to study the specifics of the organization of the hotel and restaurant business, as well as the professional and comprehensive disclosure of students' own individuality.
Features of the educational program: the educational program develops the prospects for professional training of specialists in the service sector, taking into account the specific features of the functioning and implementation of entrepreneurial activities in the hotel and restaurant business.
Practical training of students: annual internships and internships are carried out in Ukraine and abroad with the receipt of certificates, interactive on-site practical classes, master classes and seminars are also held with the involvement of well-known practitioners of the hotel and restaurant business in the educational process.
All students of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business, who live in cities and towns outside of Kyiv and Kyiv region are provided with accommodation in a hostel located near the university.
The 3rd and 4th year students of the Department of Tourism, Hotel and Restaurant Business have the opportunity to obtain military education and obtain a state diploma.
Students of all forms of education can be admitted to military training (on the basis of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design that conducts military training of students under the reserve officers training program together with the National Defense University of Ukraine with subsequent officer rank). Both boys and girls can take military training if they wish.
Upon successful completion of their studies, graduates receive a diploma of basic or complete higher education of the established state standard in the specialty 241 Hotel and restaurant business:
