Training is carried out by state order and at the expense of individuals or legal entities.

Admission to study for the educational degree "bachelor" or "master" is carried out in accordance with the "Rules for Admission to Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design".

After successful completion of the training, graduates receive a diploma of basic or complete higher education of the established state standard in the specialty 022 Design:

• Bachelor of Design - 3 years and 10 months (full-time or part-time course).
• Master of Design - 1 year and 4 months (full-time course).

Students of the Department of Graphic Design after receiving the degree "Bachelor of Design" have the opportunity to continue their studies in the Master's program "Design (by type)" of the professional direction "Graphic Design" and receive a "Master of Design" degree.

Professional training of specialists in the direction of "Graphic Design" is carried out on the basis of the traditions of the Ukrainian academic school of fine arts, it lays a solid foundation for the development of the skills of future graphic designers. Students can learn from academicians, corresponding members of academies, professors and associate professors, folk artists and honored artists of Ukraine, members of creative unions of artists, designers and photographers of Ukraine.

As a result of training, bachelor students will receive the following knowledge and skills for professional activity:

• development and implementation of graphic design and advertising projects of various fields of application based on modern innovative technologies;
• creation of real or virtual layouts of design objects and projects of graphic and promotional printing products;
• solving creative problems in the development of corporate identity, communication elements, book design, periodicals, poster works, game design, advertising, and graphic complexes, etc.
• development of graphic design projects of varying degrees of complexity and stylistic solutions;
• carrying out a theoretical analysis of graphic developments with the subsequent implementation of a creative search, design, and layout of design objects.

As a result of training, master students will receive the following knowledge and skills for professional activity:

• development and implementation of design projects for various fields of application based on scientific research in graphic design;
• development of graphic projects of varying degrees of complexity and stylistic solutions, the implementation of integrated design;
• creation of corporate style projects, communication elements, book design, periodicals, poster works, game design, advertising and graphic complexes, etc.;
• carrying out pre-project research and comparative analysis of previous graphic developments, followed by creative search, design and layout of design objects;
• ability to navigate in matters of professional activity, developed design thinking, and understanding of innovative trends in graphic design;
• possession of information technologies and modern means of communication;
• skills in creative analytical work;
• ability to apply stylization, carry out creative interpretation, work in different areas of design, form their own innovative project proposals;
• ability to generate fundamentally new design ideas.

The basis of a graphic designer's profession is creating visual design objects using modern computer technology and innovative design methods. A graphic designer is engaged in the development of printing products and their prepress, taking into account the possibilities of modern printing methods.

Graduates of the professional direction "Graphic Design" can work:

• in the field of the printing industry - in art editorial offices, at printing enterprises, in the editorial offices of periodicals - magazines and newspapers;
• in the field of advertising - in advertising agencies and outdoor advertising enterprises;
• at enterprises engaged in advertising support for entertainment events;
• on television and in the field of media projects - advertising support, development of identity and communication elements;
• in the field of UI/UX design.

3^rd and 4^th-year students of the Department of Graphic Design during can receive a military education and an appropriate state diploma.

Military training is carried out on the basis of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design under the reserve officer training program together with the National Defense University of Ukraine with the subsequent assignment of an officer rank. Students of all forms of education can be accepted for military training, and both male and female students can take it if they wish.

All students of the Faculty of Design who live in cities and towns outside Kyiv and the Kyiv region are provided with accommodation in a hostel located near the educational buildings.
