The main purpose of training in the specialtyis the training of specialists with basic knowledge and practical skills for the successful implementation of professional activities that are able to ensure the functioning and development of enterprises in the tourism and recreation sector, taking into account the needs of the regional market of services.
The main goals of the program are: formation of general and professional competencies for the successful implementation of professional activities in the field of recreation and tourism.
International cooperation: is realized through the participation of teachers of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business together with students in joint educational projects and international conferences, round tables, symposiums, international internships, etc.
The main focus of the educational program:Emphasis is placed on the formation and development of professional competencies in accordance with the requirements of leading international organizations and enterprises of the tourism industry.
Features of the educational program:educational programcovers a wide range of elective subjects in the field of cultural and creative industries, provides the opportunity to master two major foreign languages, has practice-oriented interdisciplinary training and the opportunity to do internships abroad. All students of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business living outside of Kyiv are provided with a dormitory, which is located near the university. Students of the Department of Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Business of KNUTD have the opportunity to obtain at the same time military educationand to receive the corresponding diploma of the state standard with assignment of an officer rank.
Upon successful completion of their studies, graduates receive a diploma of basic or complete higher education of the established state standard in the specialty 142 Tourism:
The bachelor has the skills and abilities: develop a tourism product, design tour programs, tour packages and other tourism products, provide tour operators, travel agents, hotel and restaurant services, make operational management decisions in the field of hospitality and tourism, organize the process of tourist service, monitor and forecast tourist and recreational potential.
The main positions that can be held by a specialist: head of the tourism agency, tourism specialist, tourism service specialist, tourism safety specialist,organizer of tourist trips (excursions), guide-translator, instructor of health and sports tourism (by type of tourism).
