Admission to study for the educational-scientific degree "Doctor of Philosophy" is conducted in accordance with the RULES for admission to postgraduate studies of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design in 2023.
After successful completion of studies and defense of the thesis, graduates receive a Doctor of Philosophy diploma in specialty 161 – Chemical technologies and engineering of the established standard.

The purpose of the educational program
The goal of the educational and scientific program "Chemical technologies and engineering" is to train specialists who have deep knowledge, as well as basic and professional competences in the field of chemical technologies and engineering, aimed at carrying out scientific research, project-analytical and educational activities in the field of chemical technologies, as well as teaching work.
The main goals of the program are to acquire the competences necessary for initiating, organizing and conducting complex theoretical and experimental research in the field of chemical technologies and engineering, research and innovation activities, mastering the methodology of scientific and pedagogical work, as well as conducting one's own original scientific research in the field of chemical technologies and engineering, the results of which have scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance.
The mission of the department:
- formation of the national scientific and technical elite, which has a creative resource for the creation and implementation of new materials and innovative technologies for industrial and household consumers;
- the formation and development of general and professional competences in the field of chemical technologies and engineering, which are aimed at the graduate student's acquisition of professional training at the modern level necessary for employment and self-realization in society.
Features of the educational and scientific program
The program is carried out in an active research environment; provides for conducting post-graduate scientific research within the priority areas of science development, state programs, national and international projects; is based on a combination of modern chemical technologies, science and education, conducting interdisciplinary scientific research in the field of production and processing of chemical fibers, polymer and composite materials, electrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, interaction of fundamental and applied areas of research; ensures effective use of the scientific potential of young scientists.
The program is aimed at training specialists capable of producing new ideas, solving complex problems in the field of obtaining and processing chemical fibers, polymer and composite materials, electrochemical and pharmaceutical industries, professional and/or research and innovation activities, applying the methodology of scientific and pedagogical activities, and also conduct own scientific research, the results of which have scientific novelty, theoretical and practical significance.
In order to ensure a high level of training of specialists at the departments, specialized educational and scientific laboratories were created under the leadership of the leading teachers of the departments, doctors of science. Students and post-graduate students annually participate in national and international scientific conferences of young scientists and students, publish scientific articles, take part in the implementation of state budget and farm contract topics.
On the basis of the Department of Chemical Technology and Resource Saving, there is a Center for collective use of scientific equipment “Additive manufacturing technologies” (3D-printing).
Studying at the university
Training is conducted by highly educated specialists with scientific authority and extensive work experience both in production and in project organizations. The laboratories of the faculty are equipped with modern devices and equipment, which allows you to consolidate the acquired theoretical knowledge in practice.
The platform "MOODLS for the educational process of KNUTD" successfully operates in the university, which provides the opportunity for students and graduate students to independently use electronic educational resources, including educational and methodological materials from academic disciplines (lecture notes, guidelines, textbooks, study aids, presentation materials, etc.) , submit reports, take tests, ask questions to teachers on forums and get answers to them, learn about the schedule of classes, consultations, exams, study results and much more.
The graduates are suitable for employment at enterprises, organizations and institutions operating in the field of chemical technologies and engineering; recipients are able to engage in teaching activities, work in scientific units of higher education institutions, in scientific and project institutions of related fields.
The applicant can hold the position of teacher in institutions of higher education, research assistant (chemistry), chemical engineer, analytical chemist; research engineer, technological engineer, analyst-consultant, head of scientific-research units and units for scientific-technical training of production in the chemical-technological direction and related industries.

All students (postgraduate students) who live in cities and towns outside Kyiv and the Kyiv region are provided with accommodation in a dormitory located near the educational buildings of the university.
