History of the Department

The Department of entrepreneurship and business was established on basis of the Department of service sector management. The history of the department is closely connected to the history of the university. Back in 1930 department of Marxism-Leninism was established at the Faculty of Engineering and Economics, KTILP. Consistent transformation took place thereafter: in 1946 it became the department of political economy; in 1998 - Economic Theory and Finance; in 2007 – service sector management.

The Department of entrepreneurship and business was established in February 2016 in order to implement the conception on combination of theoretical preparation and formation of business outlook with practical skills of future specialists to educational process. 

MAIN TERMS OF CONCEPTUAL DEVELOPMENT

of the Department of entrepreneurship and business

MISSION of the Department of entrepreneurship and business of Kiev national university of the technologies and design – purposeful implementation of the conception on combination of theoretical preparation and formation of business outlook with practical skills of future specialists to educational process.

VISION for development of the Department of entrepreneurship and business – improvement of the specialists training quality up to the level, providing them with the opportunity to occupy fair place in the community and successfully participate in development of society, based on global economy of knowledge.

OBJECTIVES of development of the Department of entrepreneurship and business:

first – formation of intelligent, creative conceiving elite of the society in the domain of entrepreneurship and business. It can become real with engagement of the most capable and creative students only;

second – acquisition of exclusive and highly professional competencies in educational programs: "Entrepreneurship and Business", "IT Entrepreneurship", "Entrepreneurship in Hotel and Restaurant Business", "Exhibition Business",Entrepreneurship and customs-logistic activity”, "Entrepreneurship and Service Activity", "Business Administration", " Small and Medium Enterprises";

third – formation and maintaining of the competitive status of the department of entrepreneurship and business in training of competent and competitive specialists in the field of entrepreneurship and business, hotel and restaurant business.

In summary, the main task of the management department of entrepreneurship and business is to harmonize influence of external processes within different time intervals with efficient use of resources to fulfill its mission and achieve the aim. 

TASKS of innovation development management of the department of entrepreneurship and business:

1. Ensuring the positioning of the University in the world of educational space on the basis of a University worthy image forming (brand), international reputation, implementation of the Unified Credit Transfer System, competitive advantages in the scientific sphere, coverage of the results of scientific and research activities in the world.

2. Management of quality of education on an innovative basis by creating modern conditions that will ensure the modernization of the educational process and the achievement of positive dynamics of educational outcomes.

3. Creation of an educational-innovative, informational and educational interactive environment by introducing modern achievements in science, technics, technology, implementation of a competent approach, using information and communication technologies, electronic learning and management tools, the development and implementation of pedagogical innovations.

4. Formation, use and development of the integration potential of the department of entrepreneurship and business on a new innovative basis: scientific, personnel, organizational and logistical.

5. Formation of innovative corporate culture of the department of entrepreneurship and business, the main features of which are the participatory basis of the interaction of leaders, teachers, students and parents, the focus on innovation activities and self-development, social support and protection of subjects of the educational process. 

THE CONCEPT of development of the Department of entrepreneurship and business is based on the principles of science, innovation, systematic and continuous education, professionalism, corporate partnership and mobility, the dichotomy attractor whose implementation is embodied on the one hand in the adaptability of the system to self-preservation, adaptation, structural adjustment, transformation, adaptation to the difficult structured the processes of formation of the knowledge economy, on the other hand - in dissipative self-organization as the ability of the system to independently maintain and improve level of their organization by changing external or internal conditions of its existence, maintaining its integrity, increase stability, ensure proper functioning. On this basis, the following eight basic provisions were adopted.

Provisions of the concept Development of the Department of entrepreneurship and Business KNUTD:

1. Development, implementation and continuous improvement of educational and professional training programs for specialists of four levels.

2. The research work of the professor and leading associate professor of the department of entrepreneurship and business in relation to the teaching staff is primary one.

3. In the course of preparation of the specialists of the educational degrees "bachelor", "master", candidates of economic sciences (doctors of philosophy), doctors of sciences, work of the teacher should be aimed at the final result – ensure students, postgraduates, and postgraduate students have formed competencies under the existing educational programs.

4. Student and teacher are partners, which should cooperate throughout the academic year with the appropriate structuring of educational disciplines and current block-modular diagnostics with the possibility of accumulation of relevant credits.

5. Wide introduction of individualization of training.

6. Training the specialist in entrepreneurship and business in a society based on the knowledge economy, should be based solely on improving the quality of specialists trained by the Department of entrepreneurship and business, based on the study and implementation of the experience of world leaders in higher education, to use the best domestic experience.

7. The strategy of the development of the world economy, its transition to the knowledge economy, and hence, to network forms of synthesis of new knowledge dictate the strengthening of the role of fundamental training of specialists.

8. Integration into the international educational space is characterized by introduction of the mechanism of student and teacher mobility, participation of students in programs of double diplomas by the level of bachelor and master; participation of students, postgraduates and department lecturers in the programs of credit mobility Erasmus+, named after Fulbright, DAAD German scholarship grants, Chinese Government scholarships, UGRAD exchange program, summer school education, individual grants.

Research

Lecturers of the Department of entrepreneurship and business take an active part in international projects and grants. 9 projects were submitted in 2016-2017. 3 of them have been won: British Council (Leadership Development Program of Ukrainian Universities); DAAD - German Academic Exchange Service (Implementation of the concept of gender sensitive environment at the Faculty of Entrepreneurship and Law of Kyiv National University of Technology and Design); Innovative business education platform based on cluster business for demobilized soldiers and migrants from the ATO zone.

Scientific interests: management of innovative development of entrepreneurship in Ukraine, corporate social responsibility of enterprises.

Publications: over 100 scientific works, including indexed in scientific databases Scopus and Web of Science.

Prepared: 2 candidates of economic sciences, 1 doctor of economic sciences.

 

KRAKHMALOVA Nina, candidate of economic sciences, docent, docent of the department of entrepreneurship and business.

Scientific interests: marketing management, exhibition activity, communication technologies in education and business.

Scientific interests: state regulation of innovation and investment processes in the national economy, problems of interaction between the state and the market, public-private partnership.

SOHATSKA Hanna, candidate of economic sciences, docent, docent of the department of entrepreneurship and business.

Scientific interests: Competitive management, marketing research, consulting, innovations in business education.

Scientific interests: creation of a new direction of commercialization of the results of educational and scientific activities of the University for improving the quality of project preparation, promotion of intellectual property of the University on the national and international markets, attraction of external financial resources for implementation of project initiatives.

Students

Students of the department conduct active social and scientific life, visit specialized exhibitions, participate in scientific competitions, olympiads, conferences of various levels.

Scientific researches of students consist of participation in various nationwide scientific and public contests:

  • II degree Diploma gained by students team (Bilous V., Belik D., Kasich I., Romashchenko M.) at the International competition of start-ups and PR projects "Golden Compass".
  • II degree Diploma gained by students Gavrilenko N., Yatsuk I. at the All-Ukrainian contest of student research papers in the field of "Marketing, personnel management and labor economics".
  • ІІІ degree Diploma gained by student Vashchenko A. at the All-Ukrainian contest of student research papers in the field of "Economy of Transport and Communications"

International Cooperation

The Department is active in international affairs, supporting international contacts with the Higher School of Management in Warsaw, the University of Dombrov Gornicius (Poland), PEGASO ONLINE University (Italy), the Vilnius Technical University of Gediminas, Tallinn University of Technology (Estonia), Tbilisi Technical University (Georgia ), State Technical University of Gori (Georgia), Caucasian University (Georgia), Belarusian State Technological University, Brest State University (Belarus), National Engineering They are the University of Armenia.

The staff of the department actively participates in international and national scientific, educational and social projects:

Bachelor International Program

The Polish-Ukrainian Baccalaureate Program is in operation, where a Polish partner (University in Dombrow Górnicz (Poland) receives an "Management" training program in the "Management" program without the certificates of externality and one-year training, further training in the KNUTD takes place in one of the educational programs (at the choice of the student):

Master's International Program

The joint Polish-Ukrainian Master's program "Two Diplomas" 2D is being implemented, which is implemented jointly with the Higher School of Management in Warsaw, Poland.

When successfully completing the program, students receive 2 state-level diplomas:

Master's degree in «Management», Management Program "Business Administration"

Masters in «Management» of the Graduate School of Management in Warsaw.
