General Information

Mission Statement:

Training of highly-qualified experts in the field of IT- technologies and computer engineering.

History

Due to the restructuring of the Department of Information and Computer Technologies and the Department of Sciences in 2012 the Department of Information Computer Technologies and Sciences was founded. The head of the Department is Mykhailo V. Yarmolenko, Ph D in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor. There are 2 Doctors of Technical Sciences, 4 PhD in Technical Sciences and 5 Senior Instructors at the Department.

Teaching Staff

Mykhailo V.YARMOLENKO, Ph.D in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department

1985 – graduated from Cherkasy State Pedagogical Institute, Department of Physics and Mathematics, Specialty “Physics and Mathematics”. 1990 - PhD in Physics and Mathematics from Moscow Metallurgy Research Institute (thesis “Common factors of mutual diffusion and phases growth in alloys under variable fields and temperature stresses”).  Since 1995 –  Associate Professor.

Professional experience – 27 years.

The author of more than 50 scientific publications.

Research interests: solid state reactions in composite, monocrystal, fiber and film materials under the influence of electromagnetic and mechanical fields.

Courses typically taught: “Physics”, “Discrete Mathematics”, “Theory of Probability and Mathematic Statistics”, “Algorithms and Computing Methods”, “High-performance Computer Systems”.

   

Serhiy O. VORONOV, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor

1973 – graduated from Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, Specialty “Vacuum devices and elements”. In 1997 Serhiy O. Voronov defended his thesis “Development of the methods for estimation of structural materials degradation and and durability in aggressive environment under sustained static loading”. Since 2004 – Professor.

Professional experience – 45 years.

The author of more than 400 scientific publications.

Research interests: thermal imaging systems with non-destructive testing technology and infrared receivers

Courses typically taught: “Technology of Computer Systems Design”, “Decision Support Systems”.

Volodymyr H. RYABTSEV, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor

1969 – graduated from Kharkiv Aviation Institute, Specialty – “Automatic Control Systems”. In 2004 – defended the doctoral thesis – “Methods and tools of the automating design of diagnostic maintenance of the Chip-Configurable digital systems with the built-up memory”. Since 2009 – Professor. Since 2009 – the member of the School.

Professional experience – 49 years.

The author of more than 250 scientific publications.

Research interests: automated digital design systems, semiconductor memory devices diagnosing, and tools for synthesis of verification tests of models of digital systems that contain built-in memory.

Courses typically taught: “Research and Design of Embedded Computer Systems”, “FPGA-based Specialized Computer Systems Design”, “Programmable Communication Devices with an Object”.

Serhii V. ZABOLOTNII, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor

1995 - graduated with honors from Cherkasy State Technological University, Specialty “Radio Engineering”. In 2015 Serhii V. Zabolotnii defended his doctoral thesis ”Information technology of Non-Gaussian sequences parameter disorder probability diagnostics”. Since 2003 – Associate Professor.

Professional experience – 23 years.

Research interests: methods and models of distribution of malicious software in computer systems.

The author of more than 100 scientific publications, textbooks and reference books.

Courses typically taught: “Computer Aided Circuit Engineering”, “Digital Signal Processing”, “Computer Electronics”.

  

Svitlana M. ODOKIENKO, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor

1994 – graduated from Cherkasy State Technological University. Specialty – “Electronics and Computer Technologies”. In 2007 Svitlana M. Odokienko defended her thesis in specialty 01.05.02 “Mathematical modeling and computational methods”. The author of more than 60 scientific publications.

Research interests: mathematical modeling of dynamic objects and modern distance education technologies.

Courses typically taught: “Fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence Systems”, “Automated Accounting and Auditing”, “Computer Systems of Artificial Intelligence”, “Design systems”, “Computer-process Interfaces”.

 

Volodymyr Y. SHADHYN, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor

In 2004 graduated from Cherkasy State Technological University. Specialty – “Computer systems and networks”. In 2009 Volodymyr Y. Shadhyn defended his thesis “Method of software protection from hidden scanning in computer systems”.

Professional experience – 14 years.

Research interests: methods and models of distribution of malware in computer systems.

The author of more than 60 scientific publications including textbooks and reference books.

Courses typically taught: “Computer Networks”, «Hardware Design», «Computer Network Research and Programming».

Maria V. ZAKHAROVA, PhD in Technical Sciences, Associate Professor

2001 – graduated from Cherkasy State Technological University. Specialty – “Information Control Systems and Technologies”. In 2010 Maria V. Zakharova defended her thesis “Synthesis of mechanisms for information resources security from cyber-attacks”. Since 2013 – Associate Professor.

Professional experience – 17 years.

Research interests: development and application of cryptography to secure computer systems, system modelling for information security.

The author of more than 60 scientific publications.

Courses typically taught: «Reliability and Security of Information in Computer systems», «Network Software», «Software of Specialized computer systems».

Maya V. LYUTA, Senior Instructor

2001 – graduated from Ukrainian State University of Chemical Engineering. Specialty – “Engineering Technology”. 2011- graduated from The Bohdan Khmelnytsky National University of Cherkasy. Specialty - “Pedagogics of Higher School”. Professional experience – 14 years.

Research interests: coding methods and data processing.

The author of more than 20 scientific publications.

Courses typically taught: “Information Systems and Technologies”, “Programming Fundamentals”. «Reliability and Security of Information in Computer systems”.

 

Facilities

The Department of Information and Computer Technologies and Sciences offers 2 specialized laboratories and 2 modern computer classrooms to ensure the proper level of training process. The department also cooperates (according to the agreement) with the Cherkasy Physics and Mathematics Lyceum (FIMLI), which is equipped with a modern laboratory base of general physics and chemistry.

Research

The major research focus of the Department is 35 "Strategy of Higher Educational Institutions Development: Economic, Socio-Cultural, Informational, Innovative and Creative Aspects"

In April 2017, the team of 3 and 4-year students of the specialty "System Programming" under the leadership of the faculty members participated in the All-Ukrainian Programming Contest, which was held with the support of the International Organization of International Collegiate Programming Contest and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The team and the trainers are awarded with the certificates of international standard.

Research

The major research focus of the Department is 1.2.8.3 ”Development of New Information Technologies on the Basis of Electric, Magnetic and Optical Signals Measuring and Their Temporal and Spatial Analysis”.

Students Societies

Students of the Department affiliate into a research group on “Study of modern information technologies”. The goal of the research group is to develop intellectual potential of a personality. The task of the group is to develop research skills and ability to articulate issues, to develop communication skills and to expand knowledge in IT technologies.

The students of the research group participate in All-Ukrainian and International conferences and Contests (The ACM International Collegiate Programming Contest). The result of students’ research work is the publication of their scientific conference abstracts and articles in scientific journals.
