MEETING OF THE "SKETCHING CLUB" AT THE DEPARTMENT OF DIGITAL ART

On September 8, 2023, a meeting of the scientific club "SKETCHING CLUB" of the Department of Digital Art was held. It was conducted by the leaders of the club – senior teacher Svitlana PASHUKOVA and PhD, associate professor Darya CHAMBERZHI, on the topic "Impact of sketching on the development of creativity", during which a sketching session was held dedicated to Borsch Day, celebrated in Ukraine on the second Saturday of September. The members of the club – higher education seekers of the first (bachelor’s) level of the EP "Digital Art" majoring in 023 "Fine art, decorative art, restoration" and 022 "Design" studied the culture of traditional Ukrainian cuisine, creating a sketch of history and studying the visual means of art expressiveness in natural sketches, combining line, spot, color, and perspective in compositional options.

It was an exciting event aimed at combining cultural gastronomic experience and art, raising interest in traditional Ukrainian culture through creative thinking in sketching experiments. This type of drawing allows students to develop creative thinking through several important skills and abilities, look for non-standard ways of expression and reproduction, and interpret the shape of vegetables with the help of their imagination. Observation and analysis help to reproduce the natural form in detail and convey their unique features and small details. The students made several works, mixing different techniques, using traditional and digital tools from the usual pencil and brush to the stylus. Students received useful practical experience in the interpretation of creative ideas, which consolidated artistic skills at a deeper level.
