On 21.09.2023, a round table was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design with the participation of the teachers of the Department of Fashion Technology of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, as well as the Faculty of Mechatronics and Computer Technology with the representatives of SURIKAT, a Ukrainian manufacturer of backpacks and waist bags. The purpose of the event was to discuss the educational programs "Fashion Industry", "Computer Design in the Fashion Industry", "Design and Technology of Garments", "Computer Science", "Applied Mechanics", "Mechanical Engineering", "Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies" in accordance with the requirements of present day and increase the competitiveness of graduates in the labor market.
The invited guests were stakeholders, representatives of SURIKAT Mykhailo Kucherenko (Production Director) and Daryna Atamanenko (HR Manager). Today, SURIKAT is a leading manufacturer of backpacks, waist bags, and pencil cases and needs qualified specialists for various production links. During the meeting, a wide range of issues related to the quality of training and employment of graduates of these educational programs were reviewed and discussed. The participants of the roundtable exchanged views on the content of educational competencies of educational and professional programs necessary for the training of competitive professionals in the labor market.
The stakeholders shared their production experience at the company and offered to accept students for internships within the SURIKAT production, introduce dual education for higher education students of the Fashion Industry, Computer Design in the Fashion Industry, Design and Technology of Garments, Computer Science, Applied Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, Automation and Computer-Integrated Technologies programs.
The stakeholders expressed support for the development of educational programs and declared their readiness for further cooperation.
On 22.09.2023 and 28.09.2023, the students visited SURIKAT, got acquainted with the production, the latest manufacturing technologies and the operation of modern equipment, and studied the product range.
Such meetings allow students to learn about the needs and requirements of the modern labor market, which motivates them to develop and self-realize facilitating their further employment.
