On October 13, 2023, the Department of Fashion Technology, as part of the work of the scientific club "Scientific developments in the design and manufacture of fashion products" under the guidance of Antonina Babych, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Victoria Kernesh, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, held a regular meeting on the topic “Traditional and modern non-standard materials and technologies for the production of fashion collections”.
Students of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education under the educational and professional programs "Computer Design of Products of the Fashion Industry" and "Fashion Industry" had the opportunity to learn about atypical materials, namely, paper vine and weaving techniques.
A master class was held by Polina Bilous, a student of the BIMd-21 group, a participant in the international competitions “Pecherski Kashtany” and “Suzirya Kashtan”.
The students gained practical experience and made their own samples of products using the technique of paper vine weaving decor.
During the meeting, its members discussed sources of inspiration, materials, techniques and technologies for making and decorating products to create original works from paper vines and other materials, as well as participation in various creative competitions.
The creative atmosphere of the club inspired the participants to acquire new professional knowledge and encouraged them to work with a variety of materials in eco-design, create modern exclusive decorative and ergonomic products.
