STRONG START OF COOPERATION BETWEEN THE DEPARTMENT OF FASHION AND STYLE AND ARIAMO FASHION GROUP

As part of the Week of Textile and Light Industry at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, at the Department of Fashion and Style, some events were held on the base of the production facilities of Ariamo Fashion Group LLC, a leading domestic manufacturer of wedding dresses, which currently has 480 stores in 50 countries of the world. The company’s main goal is to create an individual image for each bride. Therefore, the design of dresses is developed in four different and expressive design lines Ariamo Light, Ariamo Boho, Madioni, and Carfelli.

Thus, on April 1, 2024, at the initiative of the head of the Student Self-Government of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, Yelizaveta Voichenko, and with the support of the Dean of the Faculty, Natalia Ostapenko, an introductory tour of the enterprise was held for students of the specialty 182 Light Industry Technologies under the educational programs “Design and technology of garments”, “Styling, design and artistic finishing of fashion industry products” and teachers of the Department of Fashion and Style.

The visitors were warmly welcomed by the founder and creative director of Ariamo Fashion Group, Anna Hrydasova, accompanied by the head of production, Valeria Khomenko. They familiarized students and teachers with the assortment of wedding clothes produced by the enterprise, the enterprise’s production processes, and the specifics of the experimental production. Those present had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the project documentation that accompanies the production of models, and the features of cutting, tailoring, and decoration of wedding clothes.

During the tour, Anna Hrydasova repeatedly emphasized the relevance and demand for the professions of fashion designer, designer, and garment technologist. She invited students to join the company’s friendly team after their graduation.

It is important to note that the management positions of the enterprise are occupied by graduates of our famous University, who studied at different times and obtained the profession of designer-technologist.

On April 10, 2024, the second meeting for students of the educational program “Design and technology of garments”, academic group BSH-22(n-23), took place at the enterprise, and an on-site class on the discipline “Creative technologies in the garment industry” was held (teachers of the Department of Fashion and Style – Larysa Bilotska, PhD, Associate Professor; Svitlana Lozovenko, assistant). To consolidate the theoretical knowledge of the discipline and familiarize students with the possibilities of using creative technologies in the decoration of wedding dresses, a lecture entitled “Emergence, development and formation of methods for decorating and finishing clothes” was held for the students.

The students learned about the techniques of draping, creating artificial flowers, making buffs by modeling products, techniques of perforating products, etc. The production manager and technologist shared her professional knowledge and skills with the students.

The students had the opportunity to try out various techniques on their own at the company’s production facilities and make their own creative solutions.

On April 11, 2024, an on-site class was held for students of the educational programs of the Department of Fashion and Style “Styling, design and artistic finishing of fashion industry products” and “Design and technology of garments” of academic groups BSHMK-22(n-23), BSH-22 (n-23) accompanied by Tetiana Avramenko, assistant of the Department of Fashion and Style. As part of the course “Materials Science”, the designers of the enterprise held a lecture on the topic “Production, construction and finishing of textile fabrics”. The students had the opportunity to acquire knowledge about the specifics of selecting a package of materials for garments and a range of materials used for the production of wedding dresses depending on the style solution, silhouette, and model of the product. Particular attention is paid to the issues of fabric interweaving and methods of lace formation. The attendees of the on-site lecture were impressed by the modern, highly aesthetic materials used to make wedding dresses and the wide range of exclusive lace presented.

The students of the specialty 182 Light Industry Technologies and the staff of the Department of Fashion and Style are sincerely grateful to Anna Hrydasova, the founder and creative director of Ariamo Fashion Group, and professionals for an interesting tour, meaningful classes, imparted knowledge and experience, which are so necessary for the formation of professional competencies of future specialists.
