PUBLIC LECTURE BY LESIA SHEVCHUK FOR STUDENTS AND LECTURES OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PHILOLOGY AND TRANSLATION

The open lecture “European Integration Processes in Ukraine in the Field of Science and Vocational Teacher Education: Implementation of Vienna and German Experiences” by the head of the Department of Foreign Philology and Translation of the National Transport University, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Lesia Shevchuk was held in the conference hall (room 1‑0130) Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design on April 23, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. Scientific and pedagogical workers and graduates of the Department of Philology and Translation, future translators and teachers of Ukrainian and English languages, as well as other willing students of the Institute of Law and Modern Technologies joined the meeting as part of the activities of the Week of Business Foreign Languages “Investing in the Future” in the auditorium and remotely.

Lesia Shevchuk informed about European integration processes in the field of domestic science and education, prospects for the development of pedagogical education in the world and in Ukraine, directions for improving the training of teachers and ways to overcome the challenges that the scientific and student communities of educational institutions face today.

The experienced scientist and lecturer in English discussed with colleagues and students the urgent issues of improving professional competences, developing digital and financial literacy and entrepreneurial skills, and introducing dual higher education.

Lesia Shevchuk’s informative lecture introduced the listeners to the world and Ukrainian experience of implementing programs for training competitive modern teachers. All those present were convinced that high-quality education is an urgent necessity of a civilized society, and the teacher under any conditions was, is and always will be the main guide of every successful educational environment.
