From June 12 to July 1, the University hosted the International Competition for Young Designers “Pecherski Kashtany”. For twenty-three years in a row, the participants have been surprising us with their originality, skill, creativity, and inexhaustible beauty.
This year, more than 190 contestants from many cities in Ukraine, Moldova, Georgia, and China took part in the Competition.
The main idea of the Competition was, and still is, to support and assist talented young people in mastering the art of creative costume design, going beyond everyday life, and openly demonstrating "provocative" ideas in the form and decoration of the costume.
This year, the Competition was held in a hybrid format.
There were two stages of the Competition:
- the first stage – the participants prepared their works and sent them for assessment (a professional jury remotely reviewed the works and decided on the next final stage);
- the second stage – the final one (the winners demonstrated their collections on the catwalk).
On June 22, 2023, the jury members met to approve the results, select the winners of the Competition and the nominees for the Grand Prix.
