For the twentieth year in a row, at the initiative of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design, a competition of young designers "Pechersk Chestnuts" is being held!
Every year more than 300 contestants from different cities of Ukraine, Europe and the world take part in the competition. The target audience, which is about 5,000 people, consists of students, leading experts in the fashion and show business, managers and owners of businesses, light industry, foreign guests.
This year, the pandemic did not allow the competition to be held in the usual format. But this did not prevent the competition to be held remotely and to maintain its level and significance for students.
The competition was held in three stages:
The first - a selection (participants sent their sketches, according to which the jury decided to go to the next stage);
The second - production of collections by participants, and preparation for video - presentations of works;
The third is the final one (participants sent video materials according to the requirements, where they demonstrated ready-made collections). A professional and competent jury remotely evaluated the works.
On December 23, 2020, the jury members gathered to approve the results, select the winners of the competition and the nominee for the Grand Prix of the XX International Competition of Young Designers - Designers "Pechersk Chestnuts"!
The creative concept of this year's competition - "History of the competition in the history of the university" is not accidental, because our famous Kyiv National University of Technology and Design celebrates its 90th anniversary!
The main idea of the competition was, is and remains to find a changing language of communication between young people and the art of costume, going beyond everyday life, frankly demonstrating "provocative" ideas in the form and decoration of the image of the costume.
