For the twenty-one year in a row, at the initiative of the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design, a competition of young designers "Pechersk Chestnuts" is being held!
Every year more than 350 contestants from different cities of Ukraine, Europe and around the world take part in the competition.
Thousands of young designers began their adult creative path with our competition, it was and is the first step into the adult world of fashion, beauty and design.
The main idea of the competition was, is and remains to find a changing language of communication between young people and the art of costume, going beyond everyday life, frankly demonstrating "provocative" ideas in the form and decoration of the image of the costume.
Unfortunately, the pandemic does not leave us a chance to return to normal life, but we do not give up and are looking for new formats for the competition. Therefore, this year the competition was also held remotely. But this did not prevent our contestants from participating, and even more so gave them the opportunity to go beyond consciousness and present their work in new, interesting formats and in unusual locations.
The competition is held in three stages:
the first stage - selection (participants send their sketches, according to which the jury decides to go to the next stage);
the second stage- production of collections by participants, video preparation for presentations of works;
the final stage (participants send video materials according to the requirements, where they demonstrate ready-made collections). A professional and competent jury remotely evaluates the works.
On June 08, 2021, the jury members gathered to approve the results, select the winners of the competition and the nominee for the Grand Prix of the XXI International Competition of Young Designers - Designers "Pechersk Chestnuts"!
