JOINT SOLEMN MEETING OF THE ACADEMIC COUNCIL, THE SUPERVISORY BOARD, BUSINESS PARTNERS, AND THE EDUCATION AND INVESTMENT CLUSTER OF KNUTD

Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design has successfully completed this year’s admission campaign and started the educational process in full-time mode. Almost 9,000 students, despite the difficult times for the country, started the new academic year at their alma mater.

On September 5, 2022, a joint solemn meeting of the Academic Council, the Supervisory Board, business partners, the Education and Investment Cluster of KNUTD, and the scientific and pedagogical staff of the University was held on the occasion of the beginning of the new academic year.

Ivan Hryshchenko, Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Professor, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, honored worker of education of Ukraine, made a speech report at the joint meeting.

Ivan Mykhailovych emphasized the significant achievements of the University over the last year, which was a difficult test for the entire team of the University, but despite all the difficulties, the University was able to improve its position in the world and national rankings of higher education institutions. Among the important achievements of the University is the preservation of the potential of the student contingent and the scientific and pedagogical staff of the University in the conditions of a full-scale war. The rector’s words were supported by the University staff, the Supervisory Board, and business partners, with whom the University plans to strengthen close cooperation in the new academic year. Ivan Mykhailovych Hryshchenko outlined further plans for the new 2022/2023 academic year. At the end of the speech, in confirmation of the year’s achievements, a documentary film about the achievements of the University for the previous academic year was shown.

Vasyl Kremen, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of KNUTD, President of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine addressed the University staff with a patriotic appeal.

Andriy Butenko, Head of the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance congratulated KNUTD team on the beginning of the new academic year. He emphasized the responsibility of universities for the quality of modern education and their important role in the reconstruction and development of our country and wished everyone to celebrate the Victory of Ukraine in the war with Russia as soon as possible.

The creative part of the solemn meeting was started by Lyudmila Ardelian, an Honored Artist of Ukraine, and a star of Ukrainian cinema and television.

Despite all the difficulties and trials caused by the full-scale and brutal Russian-Ukrainian war, many positive changes have taken place at the University. The University is opening new specialties. The presenter introduced the new members of the scientific and pedagogical team of the University involved in teaching at the Department of Performing Arts and Culture, which was created a year ago and provides specialty 026 “Performing Arts”. And also:

Anfisa Kolenko, Head of the Department, candidate of pedagogical sciences, associate professor;

Vadym Kryshchenko, People’s Artist of Ukraine, poet-songwriter, University professor;

Lev Somov, People’s Artist of Ukraine;

Viacheslav Dovzhenka, Honored Artist of Ukraine;

Anatoliy Tikhomirov, Honored Artist of Ukraine;

Olena Lazovich, Honored Artist of Ukraine;

Vitaly Kino, artistic director of the Theater on Mykhailivska Street;

Heorhiy Hostikoev and Maryna Yagodkina, theater and film actors.

Today, when we live in the conditions of a brutal war with the Russian invader, fight for our right to freedom, peace, and independence and pay an exorbitant price for it – with the lives of our compatriots, we appreciate it more than ever the opportunity to meet together in the walls of our University and listen to the poetic wisdom of our teachers, our spiritual mentors, such as the great artist who made a significant contribution to our victory on the literary front, the famous poet-songwriter Vadym Kryshchenko.

Vadym Dmytrovych inspiredly recited several poetic works from his new poetry collection “Looking forward to spring”.

The creative part was continued by honored artists of Ukraine, well-known Ukrainian singers – Dmytro Andriets and Oleksandr Vasylenko, who sang songs to the words of a member of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture, honorary professor of the University Vadym Kryshchenko.

The poet, novelist, journalist, screenwriter, and translator Vadym Pepa, together with the legendary People’s Artist of Ukraine, Hero of Ukraine Anatoly Palamarenko, gave an inspiring speech about the importance of the new collection of poems.

The students of Lev Somov’s workshop demonstrated their talent and skills with the patriotic choreographic composition “Wild Field”.

After creative speeches, the rector presented a film about the results of the University’s work in the 2021-2022 academic year to the participants of the solemn joint meeting.

At the end of the solemn event, a new art object was opened on the territory of KNUTD. It is dedicated to the 300th anniversary of the famous philosopher Hryhoriy Skovoroda, one of the most famous Ukrainians. The name of the art object uses the well-known saying of the philosopher: “Learn the invisible from the visible”. The basis of the installation is a butterfly – a symbol of the soul, immortality, rebirth and resurrection, reincarnation, as well as transformation.

 

We are strong! We will win!
