SKETCHING SESSION FOR STUDENTS OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DIGITAL ART AT VICTORIA MUSEUM

On October 7, 2022, the teachers of the Department of Digital Art of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion held a sketching session for students of the specialty 023 Fine art, decorative art, restoration in the museum of costume – Victoria Museum.

The museum's collection includes more than 1,200 authentic 19th-century exhibits, including clothing, shoes, accessories, valuables, and common household items used by residents of Ukraine and Europe. During the visit, the students were able to explore the style of Europe at the time: Belle Époque, Silver Age, Edwardian style, Victorian style, Golden Age, and make a series of sketches.

Indeed, thanks to sketching, it is possible to develop one of the most important skills of a future artist – to quickly visualize objects of nature and one's creative ideas. This is the best way to capture a fleeting impression of what you see before everything changes. For this purpose, the sketch is performed quickly, emotionally, because sketching is aimed at capturing the mood or key feature of the object.

The process of drawing from nature opens the way to the realization of creativity. That is why creating sketches will always remain an important aspect of the process of developing artistic images. When a sketch is created, the artist uses his creative spark to come up with interesting concepts that can become the basis for new art projects.

Sketching is a fascinating study of the surrounding world, the collection of visual information, the process of learning methods and approaches in fine art and effective improvement of creative skills.
