RESULTS OF THE 11th INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND PRACTICAL CONFERENCE "ENERGY EFFICIENT UNIVERSITY"

On October 27, 2022, the 11th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Energy Efficient University" was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The organizers of the conference are the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The conference was held with the support of the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine, the State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, the all-Ukrainian public organization "Higher Council of Energy Auditors and Energy Managers of Ukraine", the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the NGO "All-Ukrainian Ecological League", the German Society for International Cooperation GIZ.

For the eleventh time, this event brings together representatives of state authorities, educational institutions, domestic and international organizations and foundations, leading specialists, scientists, and public associations to exchange information and experience on the development and implementation of innovative energy-saving projects.

This year's conference took place in the context of Russian aggression against Ukraine and was held in a hybrid format. More than 60 participants joined the conference.

The conference was opened by the Director of the Institute of Engineering and Information Technologies, Professor Igor Panasiuk.

Igor Panasiuk stated that the representatives of 9 countries are participating in the conference: Germany, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Austria, Azerbaijan, Ireland, Denmark, Slovenia, and Turkey.

 

The vice-rector for scientific and innovative activities of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Professor Lyudmila Ganushchak-Efimenko gave a welcoming speech. She emphasized that Ukraine's power industry has been in a state of war since 2014, and since February 24, 2022, with a full-scale invasion of the territory of Ukraine, our power industry has faced a list of new, even more, threatening challenges. Today, everyone can support the energy front, both through frugal consumption policy and scientific research and new vectors in this field. On behalf of the rector Ivan Gryshchenko, Mrs. Ganushchak-Efimenko wished everyone a successful event.

 

The conference participants were addressed with a welcome speech:

Oleksiy Kucherenko – People's Deputy of Ukraine, First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Energy and Housing and Communal Services;

 

Dmytro Petrunin – Director General of the Energy Efficiency Directorate of the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine;

 

Myroslav Tabaharniuk – Vice-president of the Ukrainian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs;

 

Serhii Matyukh – Rector of Khmelnytskyi National University;

 

 

Volodymyr Shchelkunov – President of the Ukrainian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC Ukraine);

 

Serhiy Denysiuk – Director of the Educational and Scientific Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".

 

The speakers of the plenary session were:

Ali Salim ogli Kerimov – Head of the Technical Department of Gas Export Management, Gas Export Department of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic);

Volodymyr Bobrovnyk – Vice-Rector for Educational and Production Issues and Development of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design;

Wolf Burger – Prof. Dipl.-Ing, Duale Hochschule Baden-Württemberg, Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, Stuttgart;

Olena Tkachenko – Deputy General Director of the SIDCON consulting company;

Anatoly Kozlenko – Director of the Educational and Scientific Laboratory "Energy Efficiency Center" of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design;

Vadym Lytvyn – Chairman of the board of the public organization "Association of Energy Auditors of Ukraine";

Oleksandr Stepanenko – Director of SOLVIN UKRAINE LLC;

Viktor Petrenko – leading energy efficiency engineer of SE "HERZ Ukraine" of the Austrian firm "HERZ Armaturen GmbH";

Kateryna Kravchenko – Associate Professor, University of Žilina, Slovak Republic.

Further, communication continued at the meeting on thematic platforms. The reports of the following conference participants were heard:

Taras Romanets – associate professor, head of the laboratory of renewable energy sources, Khmelnytskyi National University;

Valery Deshko – professor of the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy, Iryna Sukhodub – associate professor of the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy, Olena Yatsenko – assistant of the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy, Olena Naumchuk – graduate student, National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute";

Maryna Shovkalyuk – Associate Professor of the Department of Power Supply, Kateryna Pakhunova – Master, Olena Shevchenko – Senior Lecturer of the Department of Thermal and Alternative Energy, National Technical University of Ukraine "Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute";

Oleg Lysak – a researcher at the Institute of Renewable Energy of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

During the conference, the deputy general director of SIDCON consulting company, Olena Tkachenko, presented the University with books on the protection of critical energy infrastructure facilities.

As part of the 11th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Energy Efficient University", a student poster competition "Save ENERGY-2022" was held.

 

The works of students of the Department of Graphic Design of the Faculty of Design, KNUTD, were presented at the competition. Prizes were awarded to works performed under the supervision of the teachers: O. Maznichenko, A. Osadcha, D. Kurovska V, A. Kutsenko. Head of the competition – assoc. prof. O. Maznichenko. Student works received favorable reviews from all the participants of the conference.

In general, the 11th International Scientific and Practical Conference "Energy Efficient University" was held at a high scientific, organizational and practical level, it was sufficiently informative and useful, which was repeatedly noted in the speeches of the participants and guests of the conference.
