“Advanced Polymer Materials and Technologies” took place

 

On October 11, 2022, the 4th International Scientific Conference “Advanced Polymer Materials and Technologies” took place https://apmt.knutd.edu.ua/.

The organizers of the conference were the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD), Lviv Polytechnic National University (LPNU), National Technical University of Ukraine “Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, Kaunas University of Technology, Lithuania; Lublin Technical University “Lublin Polytechnic”, Poland; Technical University of Košice, Slovakia; Saints Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Macedonia; School of Materials Science and Engineering of the Ocean University of the People’s Republic of China, and other scientific and educational institutions.

The conference was held in a hybrid format in two locations: KNUTD and Lviv Polytechnic National University. Remote work of the conference was provided via Zoom.

The conference was moderated by Prof. Dr. Viktoriia Plavan, Head of the Department of Applied Ecology, Technology of Polymers and Chemical Fibers, who opened the conference and congratulated everyone on the start of the work, passed the word to the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies Prof. Olha Baula.

On behalf of the Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design Professor, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Ivan Hryshchenko, a Welcome Letter was read to all the conference participants. It was stated in it “…..leading scientists of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, the Faculty of Chemical and Biopharmaceutical Technologies, with their scientific ideas and practical results, significantly enrich the potential of the national science and production, make every effort for the prosperity and development of our country. It is important that the challenges of the war did not slow down our scientific activities”.

Prof. Dr. Volodymyr Skorokhoda, Director of the Institute of Chemistry and Chemical Technologies of Lviv Polytechnic National University addressed the participants of the conference on behalf of the staff of LPNU.

The conference aimed to popularize scientific achievements in processing polymer, composite materials, and chemical fibers; to exchange experience with representatives of the related higher education institutions, R&D institutions, enterprises, and the business community; to discuss problems of specialists training for the industry of Ukraine in wartime conditions.

  • Ecology and environmental protection technology

Scientists from 10 countries took part in the conference, such as Ukraine, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania, Latvia, Romania, Macedonia, Spain, Italy, and China.

On the Ukrainian side, the researchers from Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Lviv Polytechnic National University, National Technical University of Ukraine “Ihor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”, State University of Chemistry and Technology (Dnipro), Lviv National Medical University, National Technical University “Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute”, as well as from research institutes of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and other educational and scientific institutions took part in the conference.

• 150 people took part in the conference.

• 15 oral presentations and 43 poster presentations were heard.

The conference was attended by the teachers, students, and graduate students of KNUTD departments:

  • Applied Ecology, Technology of Polymers and Chemical Fibers;
  • Electrochemical Power Engineering and Chemistry;
  • Industrial Pharmacy;
  • Biotechnology, Leather and Fur;
  • Fashion Technologies.

Based on the results of the conference, the monograph “Advanced Polymer Materials and Technologies: Recent Trends and Current Priorities” was prepared for publication under the general editorship of Prof. Dr. V. Levytskyi, Prof Dr. V. Plavan, Prof. Dr. V. Skorokhoda, Dr. V. Khomenko.

Conference participants

The 4th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Advanced Polymer Materials and Technologies” was held at a high scientific, organizational, and practical level, it was sufficiently informative and useful, which was repeatedly noted in the speeches of the participants and guests of the conference.

The participants expressed hope for further fruitful cooperation between the related universities. We expect that the next conference will be held in peaceful Ukraine!
