THE OPENING CEREMONY OF THE EXHIBITION CENTER "ART SPACE"

On March 1, 2023, KNUTD held the grand opening of the "Art Space" Exhibition Center (4th building of the University, 2 Nemyrovych-Danchenko St.). Ivan Hryshchenko, Rector of KNUTD, Professor, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, started the official opening.

"This is a space where students and teachers can share their achievements, show their results. Every month we present an exhibition of a new artist from our University, then we will offer a platform for other aspiring artists from Kyiv. Today is the first step and we will continue. For the sake of our victory, for the sake of our Ukraine. All together to victory!" - noted Ivan Hryshchenko.

The rector invited the president of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, People's Artist of Ukraine, professor, candidate of art history Sydorenko Viktor Dmytrovych and the founder of the fund to promote the development of the National Art Museum of Ukraine, honorary academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Member of the Supervisory Board of KNUTD Baghriy Petro Ivanovych to cut together the ribbon symbolizing the opening of the exhibition center.

The first personal exhibition "ELEGY OF LIFE" by the talented artist, professor of the Department of Graphic Design of KNUTD Yevhen Gula was presented in the exhibition center. Yevhen Petrovych is a painter, graphic artist, monumentalist, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, participant of all-Ukrainian and foreign art exhibitions. Teacher, author of textbooks on the courses "Plastic anatomy" (KNUTD, 2007) and "Fundamentals of composition" (KNUTD, 2012); monograph "Plastic anatomy – basis of drawing" (2013).

The artist's painting is characterized by emotional expression, a bright palette of selected colors. His deeply meaningful works contain both archaic and Christian symbolism and generalizations and are devoted to the search for the spiritual origins of the nation. Yevhen Gula's work spans a considerable period of time, crosses the boundaries of two centuries, and includes the context of Ukrainian art, its national character. Yevhen Petrovych told the guests how his works came into being, the philosophy and sacred content and the Ukrainian code, which were embedded in his paintings.

Viktor Sydorenko, President of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, was invited to the welcoming speech. Viktor Dmytrovych sincerely congratulated the University on the opening of the exhibition center and wished the team good luck and further creative success.

The founder of the fund for the development of the National Art Museum of Ukraine, Honorary Academician of the National Academy of Arts of Ukraine, Member of the Supervisory Board of KNUTD Petro Baghrii congratulated the University on the opening of the art space. Petro Ivanovych, as a philanthropist and great connoisseur of art, presented to the University and handed over to the rector Professor Ivan Hryshchenko a unique illustrated tome, an album of the Publishing Project "State Collections of Ukraine" - "Bohdan and Varvara Khanenki Art Museum".

This edition will replenish the funds of the scientific and technical library of the University and will satisfy the interest of all readers who wish to explore the wealth of the museum collection, the collection exhibits of which are not affected by time and values, thanks to the selfless work of the museum workers.

Yevhen Gula was congratulated on the opening of the exhibition by his friends and colleagues, one of them was a member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Arts of Pavlo Tychyna Uman State Pedagogical University, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor Korol Anatoliy Mykolayovych.

On the occasion of the solemn event, the famous Ukrainian accordionist, Honored Artist of Ukraine Ihor Zavadskyi and Honored Artist of Ukraine, soloist of the ensemble of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Hrystyna Okhitna visited the exhibition and presented their musical greetings.

An exhibition of paintings is always a holiday. This is an opportunity to meet a beautiful person, especially when the author is among us. The guests had the opportunity to enjoy the fantastic paintings of the talented artist and to talk with the artist.
