On April 3, 2023, the opening of Oleksandr Krotevych’s personal exhibition “I am coming against you!” was held at the “Art Space” Exhibition Center of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The participants of the meeting were greeted by Ivan Hryshchenko, Rector of KNUTD, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, and Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Ivan Mykhailovych emphasized the importance of art in the life of every person and the development of culture in Ukraine.

The speech of the author, Oleksandr Krotevych, was touching and sincere. Oleksandr Volodymyrovych, Candidate of Art History, Associate Professor of the Department of Graphic Design of KNUTD, artist, designer, and member of the Union of Designers of Ukraine spoke about the works presented at the exhibition, the world of symbols and their meaning, creative ideas, family, ancestry, Ukraine, described the creative process.

The exhibition was visited by an honored guest – Taras Kremin, Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, Ukrainian politician, scientist, and public figure. He expressed his gratitude to Oleksandr Krotevych for his contribution to the development of Ukrainian culture and art. “Freedom of Ukraine, victory is about the Ukrainian language, the Ukrainian alphabet, about Oleksandr Krotevych’s Alphabet. This is about our future”.

The participants also gladly welcomed the former employee of our University Kostiantyn Cherniavsky, currently the head of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, Candidate of Art History, Honored Artist of Ukraine, and Laureate of the Prize named after Ilya Repin. Mr. Kostyantyn presented an album of photos of the hero city of Mariupol – “Mariupol – the soul of Ukraine”.

Oksana Poviakel, general director of the National Museum of Folk Architecture and Life of Ukraine, also congratulated the author and the University. She expressed gratitude and respect for the creator of the paintings, who conveyed feelings and emotions to us through his works. “This exhibition was created to show how we respect and love our country, and there is no doubt that it will arouse in each of us a sense of national pride and love for Ukraine”, emphasized Ms. Oksana.

After warm words and wishes from Oksana Poviakel, the guests were greeted by Oleksandr Vasylenko, People’s Artist of Ukraine. He performed several songs that sounded in unison with the theme of the exhibition and improved the mood of all those present.

Oleksandr Krotevych is a talented artist who reproduces the soul and energy of Ukraine on his canvases, reflecting a poignant vision of his native land, its history, and culture. In every work of the artist, the sense of indomitability, independence, strength, and will, which he sees in Ukraine and Ukrainians, is embodied.

The exhibition became an important event for the city’s cultural life, bringing together people who appreciate and love art.

Visitors had the opportunity to talk with the author and learn more about his creative work.
