On May 6, 2023, as part of the work of the scientific group "Scientific developments in the design and manufacture of fashion industry products" (supervisors: Associate Professors of the Department of Fashion Technology Viкtoriia Kernesh and Antonina Babych), a scientific workshop "Traditional and modern non-standard materials for the production of collections of fashion industry products" was held.
The event was held at MOBICASE enterprise in Kyiv, a leading manufacturer of a wide range of leather goods with its own corporate identity.
MOBICASE company develops and manufactures various products, including everyday and travel bags, small haberdashery (covers, business card holders, key holders, wallets, banknote clips, covers), cases for mobile phones, GPS navigators, tablets, laptops, and other mobile devices, phone protectors made of various materials, etc.
The leaders of the group, A. Babych and V. Kernesh (Research and Development Department of Fashion Technology), held a meeting in this thematic format and learned about the company’s range of materials and products. They emphasized the importance of using regulatory documents in general and for the formation of the range of small leather goods.
All the participants of the meeting shared their thoughts on the use of traditional and modern non-typical materials to create a future collection of products, taking into account fashion trends and the importance of technology in the development of product designs of both classic and non-standard shapes.
The club members presented scientific developments, reports, and presentations on the topic of the club’s work "The use of the latest technologies in the development of a constructive solution for leather goods".
Discussions were held on the invention and systematization of ways to improve the assortment group of small pocket leather goods, depending on the purpose, manufacturing technology, and characteristics of the materials used.
The company’s director, Iryna Yankova, shared her experience in developing designs and technologies for leather goods. She emphasized the importance of product quality, the use of creative technologies, marketing policy, and product sales. The company's managers shared their experience in forming the assortment of leather goods for the chain of stores and working with customers. They discussed the challenges, advantages, and disadvantages of this business segment.
The meeting was held in a friendly atmosphere. The results of the scientific workshop can be used in further research on the use of modern materials for the manufacture of haberdashery products of various types; in the educational process for students studying under the educational programs "Fashion Industry" and "Computer Design in the Fashion Industry"; in practice during the development of product design, as well as for the preparation of scientific publications and creative works on this topic.
