PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM “ELECTROMECHANICS” IN THE WORK OF THE SCIENTIFIC CLUB “PROSPECTS OF ALTERNATIVE ENERGY”

In the current academic year, the scientific club “Prospects of Alternative Energy” (scientific supervisors - Prof. Oleksandr Shavolkin and Prof. Iryna Shvedchykova), worked at the Department of Computer Engineering and Electromechanics. The purpose of the scientific club is to deepen theoretical and practical knowledge about promising innovative technologies in energy, forming the interests of undergraduate and postgraduate students in solving problems of alternative energy. The students of the educational program "Electromechanics” of the first (bachelor’s) level of higher education M. Vozdraganov (BEM-20), M. Dziubenko (BEM-21), and O. Kharchenko (BEM- 21) took an active part in the meetings of the scientific group.

The meetings of the scientific club took place on the basis of the educational and scientific laboratories of the Department “Software and technical means of energy consumption management” and “Electrotechnical converters and electromechanical systems”. During the sessions, the students worked on creating their own Pop-Up laboratories – working models of various devices (fuel cells, electric cars, etc.) with the help of kits from the well-known company Fischertechnik provided to the Department by a partner university from Germany – Baden-Wuerttemberg Cooperative State University, Stuttgart. According to the results of the work, three reports were prepared for international conferences with the publication of theses by the participants of the club, who are studying under the educational program “Electromechanics”.

The research skills acquired during the meetings of the scientific club will help the applicants not only to expand their knowledge but also to develop the skills of independent work, critical thinking, and communication in cooperation, which is important for their further personal and professional development.
