As part of the ERASMUS+ academic mobility program, from July 4 to 8, 2023, the academic staff of the Department of Art and Fashion Design of the Faculty of Design, Kalyna Pashkevych, Head of the Department, Doctor of Engineering, Professor, Iryna Davydenko, Associate Professor, and Tetyana Struminska, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Modeling and Artistic Decoration of Clothes of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion, became participants in the internship at the Baltic International Academy (Riga, Latvia).
Introduction to the Baltic International Academy (Riga, Latvia)
During the internship, they got acquainted with the educational process at the School of Design of the Baltic International Academy (BIA). Vice-Rector of the BIA Iryna Kuzenko conducted a tour of the Academy's educational buildings and told the history of its creation and directions of development.
The secretary of the "Digital Visualization Design" program, Yana Ivanova, introduced the trainees to the educational process at the School of Design of the BIA, training plans for designers, and other features of the training organization.

A meeting was held with a member of the board, Chairman of the Senate of the Baltic International Academy, Professor Stanislav Buka and a round table with the colleagues was organized. The directions and prospects for the development of modern design education and cooperation between universities were discussed. Victoria Petliak, coordinator of Erasmus projects of the BIA, spoke about the possibilities for academic mobility of students and teachers.

The powerful Design School of BIA under the leadership of Mykhailo Kopeykin, Mg.Art, Professor, provides a high level of training of specialists in various fields of design. It has a good material base, its teachers use innovative approaches in education, which were shared with the participants of the internship from KNUTD.
A series of lectures by the academic staff of KNUTD and BIA was held, experience was exchanged with the colleagues from the School of Design of BIA. Aya Liskup, Mg. Art, Assoc. Prof. spoke about the peculiarities of teaching professional courses in the basics of drawing, painting, composition; layout and development of printing products, etc. KNUTD lecturers talked about the experience of training designers, invited colleagues to participate in the conference "Topical issues of modern design", publish in the journal "Art and Design", and participate in joint scientific projects.

A number of round tables were held with teachers of the BIA School of Design regarding the discussion of innovative approaches in modern design education, requirements for qualifying bachelor's and master's works in design, criteria for evaluating works, methods of training designers and forming educational components taking into account modern requirements of the labor market.

Ways of further cooperation in the direction of training designers were discussed: participation in conferences, joint scientific publications, holding exhibitions, lectures and master classes for higher education seekers, continuation of academic exchange because the Bilateral Agreement on inter-institutional cooperation within the framework of the Erasmus+ program until 2027 was signed between KNUTD and BIA.
