With the participation of the Primary Trade Union Organisation of the University employees, an excursion to the Scythian Lake-Whale and Nirod Waterfall in the Zhytomyr region was held.
The University staff and their families started the tour from the village of Kmytiv with the Kmytiv Museum of Fine Arts named after Yosyp Bukhanchuk, where they saw a variety of original paintings, a collection of pictures dedicated to Crimea, and sculptures.
In the village of Levkiv, the tourists visited a wooden church, where they met Father Vasyl, who was a military chaplain, and had the opportunity to talk to the sexton, who showed and told them about an old book, paintings and murals.
In the second part of the excursion, the University staff made an ‘eco-tour’ through the mountains to the Nirod Waterfall and visited the springs with healing water “Krynychky” and “Rudia”. In addition, they walked through a birch grove and followed a path to the Scythian Lake-Whale, where they visited the island of Love. On their way back to Kyiv, the tourists had the opportunity to see the remains of the count’s estate, the Nirod Palace.
All participants of the tour enjoyed the excursion and got a lot of positive emotions and impressions.
