OPENING OF DMYTRO KOVAL’S PERSONAL EXHIBITION “... A PEACEFUL DREAM”

On March 4th, 2024, the opening of the personal exhibition “...A Peaceful Dream” by Dmytro Koval, painter, teacher of the University and the Specialized College of Arts and Design of KNUTD, member of the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, was held in the “Art Space” exhibition center of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The exhibition “...A Peaceful Dream” presents a collection of 30 canvases by Dmytro Koval.

The event was opened by Ivan Gryshchenko, Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, Honored Worker of Education of Ukraine, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine in Science and Technology.

Ivan Mykhailovych noted that this event opens the third season of the presentation in the "Art Space" of the work of talented creators of modern Ukrainian culture – KNUTD teachers, who teach gifted students not only painting or drawing, but also love for our Ukraine, parental home, mother's hands and eyes, the nature of the native land. All of this is of particular value today, when the war in Ukraine is ongoing...

The war changed the life of every Ukrainian man and woman, changed you and me, changed the world and outlook, priorities and dreams. Nowadays, simple everyday things have acquired special value for us – day and night without air-raid alarms, communication with relatives, smiles of children, colleagues, friends, support of those who are near, who fight and protect, who believe and wait... And the only dream for everyone – Peace and Victory!

The host of the event, Liudmyla Ardelian, Honored Artist of Ukraine, famous Ukrainian actress of theater and cinema, assistant professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture of KNUTD, noted that the exhibition tells about the main value in life – love. Love for the world, the environment, which, like a bright light, breaks through the all-consuming darkness. From ancient times to the present day, it is through creativity that humanity tries to grasp the immeasurable, the dreamed, the perfected, to defeat the lowly and the ugly...

Dmytro Koval began the presentation of his works with words of congratulations and gratitude to Ivan Mykhailovych, as well as to numerous guests of the event. He spoke about the concept of the presented project, noted that the process of finding beauty through art is an important stage in the emotional development of modern society. The artist invites the audience to think about eternity and rebirth...
