The first-year students majoring in Textile Technologies of Fashion and Interior Space, Fashion Industry and Computer Design in the Fashion Industry of the Department of Fashion Technology visited the “HANDMADE-Expo” exhibition of handicrafts and hobbies on 29 February 2024 as part of their educational practice. Traditionally, “HANDMADE-Expo” introduces the author’s works of Ukrainian masters and a variety of goods for handicrafts, creative hobbies, children’s creativity and art materials.
The exhibition is presented in various sections, namely: business and trends in the Art & Hobby sphere, exposition of masters, market of ideas, Professional art, art expositions, and special projects.
Under the guidance of Olha Haranina, Head of the Department, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Liudmyla Halavska, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor; Tetiana Dzykovych, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, the students were very pleased and enthusiastic to see the author’s, designer’s products and expositions of the masters: lace weaving, macramé, handmade accessories, batik, beading, felting, embroidery (threads, ribbons, beads), knitting, decoupage, designer decor, clothing, painting, handmade toys, ceramics, modelling, soap making, national souvenirs, patchwork (quilting), wood carving, blacksmithing, scrapbooking, glassware, weaving, floristry, ethnic clothing, dolls, Teddy bears and goods for handicrafts and creativity of Ukrainian and foreign production.
The students had the opportunity to plunge into the atmosphere of creativity and inspiration, learn about the directions and author’s techniques of needlework, a huge variety of exclusive handmade works, and communicate with the masters of design and author’s products.
The uniqueness of the design and author’s products inspired the students to be creative, come up with creative ideas and left them with a lot of positive emotions and inspiration. Pleasant impressions, new acquaintances, useful contacts, experience and new horizons for development were received by future specialists for further creativity and practical work.
