Students and teachers were able to convince themselves of the department of Chemical Technology and Resource Saving, who, on March 1, 2024, during training, visited the production of packaging materials of TAS EVOTEK LLC (Kyiv). The company is one of the largest producers of flexible packaging materials for food, cosmetic, pharmaceutical and other industries in Central and Eastern Europe. This year, active cooperation began between enterprise`s team and the Kyiv National University of Technology and Design.

The innovative WatPac flexible packaging technology based on water-soluble materials has been implemented at the enterprise. Packaging materials produced under the "WatPac" brand are recyclable (RECYCLABLE), including as waste paper (RE-PULPABLE), are non-toxic and safe for the environment (including MARINE SAFE), and are also suitable for sorting and recycling in all standard waste streams. They are safe and approved for direct food contact.

Students and teachers of the department of Chemical Technology and Resource Saving and department of Applied Physics and Higher Mathematics were acquainted with the technologies of co-extrusion, duplex, triplex and inline lamination based on solvent and solvent-free technologies. They also had the opportunity to observe the process of vacuum metallization with preliminary plasma treatment of the surface of polymer films, the use of electronic design, digital and laser technologies in pre-printing processes. Various types of paints and varnishes are used in the production of packaging, including those with ultraviolet fixing. The company uses materials and raw components that are certified in accordance with international and European safety standards.
