PUBLIC LECTURE BY VIKTOR DRYCHYK, CHIEF SPECIALIST OF THE CENTRAL DEPARTMENT FOR THE DEVELOPMENT AND MATERIAL SUPPORT OF THE ARMED FORCES OF UKRAINE

On May 5, 2024, within the framework of the Textile and Light Industry Week of KNUTD, a public lecture "Military products: features of development and implementation" was given by the chief specialist of the rear services support of the Logistics Forces Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine of the Central Department for the Development and Material Support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Colonel Viktor Drychyk.

The office, whose representative is the respected colonel, is engaged in the development of standards for material and food provision of servicemen of the Armed Forces, conducts monitoring and research of the quality of material property and implements advanced international military standards in close cooperation with NATO member countries. The Central Department for the Development and Material Support of the Armed Forces interacts with international military representatives and manufacturers, cooperates with domestic and foreign research institutions regarding material and food support.

 

Within the framework of the meeting, Viktor Drychyk familiarized the students of the specialty 182 Light Industry Technologies and the academic staff of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion with the main types of military clothing and physical support of servicemen of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, he focused in detail on the main stages of the development and implementation of products for military purposes, namely on the specifics of working out the technical task and technical description, manufacturing the experimental batch and conducting military (experimental) tests, etc. The speaker emphasized that during the preparation of experimental samples of the new uniform, the requirements of military personnel and the specifics of modern combat operations are taken into account. The best practices of NATO countries and modern trends of commercial firms are constantly being studied. Special attention is paid to the creation of a complete set of women's equipment, which is due to the increase in the number of women in the Armed Forces.

During the lecture, Mr. Drychyk revealed the aspects and prospects of further improvement of military uniforms, emphasized that providing Ukrainian soldiers with equipment that would satisfy all their requirements and be able to adapt to operating conditions is the primary task of light industry enterprises, researchers and future graduates who are on their way to solving the problem of creating high-quality military harmony, as an important factor in successfully combating the challenges of war.

Colonel Viktor Drychyk’s lecture caused a lively discussion, there were many interesting questions to which the listeners received meaningful answers. The student and teaching community of the Faculty of Arts and Fashion is sincerely grateful to Viktor Drychyk for the relevant informative lecture!
