On October 3, 2024, the Department of Digital Art held a round table following the visit to the art exhibition of Oleksii Potapenko “MY PLANET” at the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko.
On September 22, 2024, the students of the Digital Art program visited the National Museum of Taras Shevchenko and had the opportunity to meet with curator and collector Lesia Kocherhina, who conducted a curatorial tour for them. The meeting was organized by Olesia Rybchenko, Associate Professor of the Department of Digital Art.
The presented exhibition project “MY PLANET” is divided into five thematic parts: “Ukrainian Constellations, My Land, Ukrainian Symbols, Ukrainian Holidays, and Graphics. Oleksii Potapenko presented the achievements of different periods of his work, from the 30s and 40s of the 20th century to the works created in 2024. Given such a powerful time span, the project can be considered retrospective, which allows the viewer to better understand the author's personality and his creative pursuits. The students immersed themselves in the fascinating atmosphere of the three large halls of the museum and were able to fully experience the inner artistic reflections of the artist's world. The event was aimed at teaching young artists how to organize a large art project within the museum, and the knowledge gained can be used in further studies or in the development of their own projects.
After all, it is important for beginning artists at the stage of study not only to form their own author’s handwriting, but also to develop a comprehensive thinking of presenting creative ideas, including organizing them into large projects, with subsequent exhibition in galleries or museums.
Such roundtables are an important aspect of the process of educating and upbringing young people, encouraging students to study the cultural and historical heritage of Ukraine in depth and research current art projects in Kyiv.
Такі заходи є важливим аспектом процесу навчання і виховання молоді, це спонукає здобувачів освіти до глибокого вивчення культурно-історичного надбання України і дослідження актуальних мистецьких проєктів Києва.
