VOICES OF UKRAINIAN DRAMA ON THE KNUTD STAGE

Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design stands as a model of a European multidisciplinary and versatile higher education institution in Ukraine. It successfully integrates fields such as chemical and biopharmaceutical technologies, economics, mechatronics and computer technologies, management and business design, law and modern technologies, engineering and information technologies, fashion design and art, culture, and creative industries.

A testament to KNUTD’s commitment to fostering advanced European traditions is the training of specialists in the 026 Performing Arts program, overseen by the Department of Performing Arts and Culture (headed by Vira Burnazova, Ph.D. in Pedagogy, Associate Professor). This department is staffed by Ukraine’s renowned and honored artists, professors, associate professors, senior lecturers, and practicing experts.

On December 4, 2024, a vibrant creative showcase-exam for the Acting Skills course took place at KNUTD. Third-year students of the 026 Performing Arts program, mentored by Ukraine’s Honored Artist Vyacheslav Dovzhenko, presented performances based on works by Ukrainian playwrights.

The audience enjoyed interpretations of scenes from classic plays by Ivan Karpenko-Kary, Lesya Ukrainka, and Mykhailo Starytsky, as well as contemporary Ukrainian dramas. Each performance was filled with deep emotional content, expressiveness, and sincerity.

Impressions from the event:

"It was captivating and inspiring! The participants skillfully unveiled the richness of Ukrainian drama and showcased high artistic performance. Ukrainian drama came alive on stage thanks to the talented students of the Performing Arts program and their mentor, Ukraine’s Honored Artist and Associate Professor of the Department of Performing Arts and Culture, Vyacheslav Dovzhenko. His dedication to promoting Ukrainian theater and cinema on national and international stages is remarkable. The experience was profoundly moving!" remarked KNUTD Rector Ivan Gryshchenko.

"Working with national material is always a challenge, but our students excelled. They demonstrated not only a professional approach but also a genuine love for Ukrainian culture," commented Vyacheslav Dovzhenko.

The showcase became a true celebration of Ukrainian theater, where young actors not only demonstrated their talents but also revealed new facets of national drama to the audience.

KNUTD congratulates the students on this achievement and extends gratitude to the faculty for their professionalism and inspiration!

Many more creative achievements lie ahead—stay tuned for announcements of new artistic events at KNUTD!
