HAPPY WORLD ART DAY!

Every year on April 15, the world celebrates World Art Day. This holiday was initiated in honor of the birth of the famous Italian artist and scientist Leonardo da Vinci by the International Association of Art, a partner of UNESCO, to raise awareness of creative activity around the world. The holiday reminds us of the importance of art as a component of cultural development and society as a whole.

Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design trains specialists in various specialties and fields, including in the field of "Culture, Art and Humanities". More than 1,800 students study at the Faculty of Design in the specialty "Design", about 400 students receive creative education in the specialties "Fine Arts, Decorative Arts, Restoration", "Stage Arts", "Culturology" at the Institute of Culture and Creative Industries. KNTUD is a member of the European League of Institutions of Art (ELIA).

The leadership of KNUTD consistently implements the idea of forming the future generation of specialists not only as highly educated individuals, but also as harmoniously developed, creative people, aimed at combining the rational and emotional-sensual.

Since 2023, the University has been operating the Exhibition Center "Art Space", where KNUTD teachers, famous Ukrainian artists exhibit their paintings. In total, about 20 art exhibitions have been held during the work of the Exhibition Center "Art Space". Among the most significant, powerful, one should recall the personal exhibitions of teachers and artists: "ELEGY OF LIFE", Prof. Yevhen Gula; "I'M COMING TO YOU!", Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Oleksandr Krotevych; "... and I live by this!", Prof. Mykhailo Rudenko; "Ukraine is us!", Prof. Anatoly Shapoval; "BARVY: ATMOSPHERE", Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Antonina Dubrivna, "Essays from Travels", Dr.Arch., Prof. Vadym Abyzov; "Flower Extravaganza", Ph.D., Senior Lecturer Alla Osadcha; "Anti-Anthropic", Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Swiatoslaw Podlewski, art project "EARTH", Senior Lecturer Volodymyr Padun and others. Regular visitors to the exhibition space were students, teachers, university staff and distinguished guests from different countries of the world, including employees of state institutions, scientists, artists, employees and students of higher education institutions, etc.

The university has created professional creative laboratories "KOVCHEG", "KROK" and others. It is here that KNUTD students have the opportunity to sing, dance, and participate in theatrical productions, and teachers, Honored and People's Artists of Ukraine, inspire them by their example to reveal their own talents and move towards their dreams.

Culture and art are the greatest treasures of every state, which distinguish its people from others. The main task of World Art Day is to remind humanity of true values that must be protected and respected.
