In April, the Embroidery Museum of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design hosted a meeting of the University’s Council of Veterans.
The meeting was traditionally attended by Ivan Gryshchenko, Rector of the University, Doctor of Economics, Laureate of the State Prize of Ukraine, Professor, member of the KNUTD Council of Veterans and Tetiana Bukoros, Director of the Scientific and Technical Library.
Ivan Mykhailovych opened the meeting and noted that the Council of Veterans is an effective link of the University staff who have been forming and nurturing the glorious traditions of KNUTD for decades. Members of the Council are direct participants in the educational and training processes, educational activities, both national-patriotic and military-patriotic, in accordance with the educational requirements and challenges of our time. Consistently affirming the basic values of every Ukrainian, such as respect for the cultural traditions of the Ukrainian people, democracy, freedom, prudence, readiness for change and the duty to protect the independence and territorial integrity of our country, veterans generously share their experience and professional knowledge with young people.
In addition, Ivan Mykhailovych stressed that this year the University celebrates its 95th anniversary. KNUTD is one of the oldest and the only higher education institution in the country with both technological and artistic profiles. We have a number of unique scientific schools and a powerful team of academic and research staff engaged in research and innovation activities recognised in Ukraine and abroad.
“The war has demonstrated the effectiveness of the Ukrainian education system, which has nurtured generations of nationally conscious citizens who are now heroically defending our country’s freedom and independence. In pursuing the strategic goals of KNUTD’s development, we recognize that the fundamental mission of Ukrainian education and science is the creation of meanings and values that form the foundation for shaping responsible citizens”, emphasized Ivan Mykhailovych.
In this incredibly challenging time for our country and for every Ukrainian, during the years of courageous resistance by our indomitable people against Russian aggression, we take pride in our veterans, scientists, engineers, and students who demonstrate remarkable civic awareness, responsibility, creativity, and dedication.
Gratitude for the past, action for the present, and responsibility for the future – this is the credo of Ivan Gryshchenko, the Council of Veterans, and the team he leads. United, we move toward our Victory, proudly holding the educational and scientific front!
