On April 15, 2024, the Career Day of the Faculty of Design was held, where students had the opportunity to communicate with employers and partners, who introduced them to the competencies that a future designer should have, which specialists are in demand in the labor market today.
The event was moderated by Kalyna Pashkevych, Dean of the Faculty of Design, Doctor of Engineering, Professor. On behalf of the rector of the university, Ivan Gryshchenko, Doctor of Economic Sciences, Professor, Academician of the National Academy of Pedagogical Sciences of Ukraine, she welcomed the participants of the event: partners and employers, students and teachers of the Faculty of Design.
The main goal of the event is to familiarize students with the stages of employment, opportunities for finding vacancies on the labor market.
Yakymenko Daryna, a designer in the merchandising department of the leading furniture accessories company VIYAR, told students about the features of finding a job in the field of graphic design, the form of presenting a portfolio and preparing a resume. She also offered current vacancies for work.
Svitlana Ostapyk, designer, founder and owner of the interior design and furniture studio “Tsvit”, who has developed about 100 projects of residential and commercial spaces, focused on the profession of interior designer in her report. Svitlana gave advice to students on what skills and knowledge they need to have in order to become in demand in the labor market.
The report by Dmytro Gubenko, head of the design team at Templify App, was interesting. Dmytro has over 8 years of experience in the field of video and motion design, has worked with the 1+1 TV channel, Odessa Film Studio, Depositphotos, Hashtag marketing agency, and others. He talked about the sources of finding relevant vacancies in the field of multimedia design.
Mykhailo Grigoriev, head of the design team and product designer of the “NDA company” company, shared his own career path and focused students' attention on obtaining basic education, as well as additional skills improvement in the field of graphic design.
Students received answers to their questions regarding employment and had the opportunity to communicate with successful representatives of the design industry in Ukraine.
