World Design Day has been celebrated on 27 April every year since 1995, commemorating the founding of the International Council of Industrial Design Societies on 27 April 1963, and previously known as World Graphic Design Day.

World Design Day is a reminder of the power of design to bring about positive change. Design plays a crucial role in shaping the world around us: from the products we use to the buildings we live in and the services we access. Designers work to solve problems to improve functionality and user experience in a variety of fields, including architecture, graphic design, industrial design, fashion design and more. Through thoughtful and inclusive design, society can address pressing global challenges by making products, services and spaces more accessible, sustainable and equitable for people.

The Faculty of Design of the KNUTD, founded in 2000, has been training specialists in the field of fashion, graphic and multimedia design, as well as interior and furniture design for 25 years. Over the years, the faculty has trained many designers who successfully work in various industries and popularize Ukrainian art on the international stage. The high level of lecturers, who are members of the Union of Designers of Ukraine, the National Union of Artists of Ukraine, the Union of Photo Artists of Ukraine and other creative unions and organizations, practicing specialists, doctors and candidates of sciences, made it possible to form a scientific and creative art school that is world-famous and recognized by world ratings. Today, more than 1,800 students of various educational levels and forms of study study at the Faculty of Design, who have chosen the profession of a designer, which combines art and design.
