From March 15 to 20, 2026, a seminar on applied medical informatics and the GOSEHR 2026 Summit took place in Oxford (United Kingdom). Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was represented at the event by Vladyslava Skidan, Head of the Department of Information and Computer Technologies, and Vladyslav Pylypenko, Senior Lecturer.
On March 16, 2026, the Healthy Informatics program began, bringing together modern approaches at the intersection of digital technologies and healthcare. The initiative aims to develop innovative solutions in the fields of medical data, analytics, and intelligent systems that will help improve the efficiency of healthcare services and advance the development of digital medicine.

During the program’s opening ceremony, representatives from the Department of Information and Computer Technologies presented Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design and outlined their vision for the development of the Healthy Informatics program at the university. In particular, they presented approaches to integrating methods of medical data analysis, artificial intelligence, and modern digital platforms into the department’s educational and research processes.
On March 17, 2026, the Health Informatics program session, held at St Edmund Hall (Oxford), was dedicated to an extremely important topic the ethical aspects of medical data protection. Participants discussed issues of confidentiality, security, and the responsible use of medical information. The sessions took the form of active dialogue and discussions, which facilitated the exchange of international experience and the formation of a modern vision for the development of digital medicine and health informatics.

After a busy day of classes, the program participants were treated to a special event an evening of African culture organized by colleagues from the African Digital Health Research Institute at Doctorow Hall. This informal gathering provided an opportunity to learn more about the cultures of different countries and to strengthen international academic cooperation.

On March 18, 2026, the third day of training took place in Oxford, during which participants gained hands-on experience working with a medical information system, familiarizing themselves with its functional capabilities and principles of use in the field of digital medicine.

On March 19, 2026, the fourth day of training took place in Oxford, dedicated to developing a curriculum on clinical artificial intelligence. This practice-oriented course focuses on designing and evaluating artificial intelligence tools to support clinical decision-making.

Work phases: Discover (identifying clinical problems and user needs); Formulate (defining the problem, identifying data, approaches, and evaluation criteria). Deliver (development, testing, and deployment of AI solutions).
After the training day ended, participants were treated to an evening of Ukrainian culture organized by colleagues from the non-profit organization 100% Life. The event provided a warm and friendly opportunity for informal conversation, sharing impressions of the training, and getting acquainted with Ukrainian traditions.

During the Ukrainian cultural evening in Oxford, a moment of silence served as a particularly poignant and moving moment. The event’s participants collectively honored the memory of all Ukrainians who lost their lives as a result of the war. In the silence that fell over the hall, everyone present silently remembered those who gave their lives for Ukraine’s freedom and independence. This moment became a symbol of shared memory, gratitude, and solidarity with the Ukrainian people. This tribute reminded all attendees that even far from home, Ukrainians maintain their unity, the memory of their heroes, and deep respect for those who gave the most precious thing their lives for the future of their country.
Participants had the opportunity to experience Ukrainian hospitality, interact with colleagues, and continue professional discussions in a relaxed setting.
March 20, 2026 the fifth and final day of the Health Informatics program proved to be particularly productive. Representatives from the Department of Information and Computer Technologies at KNUTD presented their vision for a week-long workshop on the application of artificial intelligence in medicine as a practical intensive course on medical data analysis, machine learning, and clinical decision support.

The proposed format included work on real-world case studies, team projects, and the development of interdisciplinary collaboration.
On March 21, 2026, the GOSEHR 2026 Summit took place, during which representatives from universities in various countries presented their visions for the development of medical informatics within their educational programs. Representatives of the Department of Information and Computer Technologies at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design presented a plan to implement relevant components into the educational and professional program “Software Engineering for Intelligent Systems” for the second (master’s) level of higher education.

We would like to sincerely thank the organizers for the high quality of the event, their support of international academic dialogue, and their efforts to foster cooperation among universities in the field of digital medicine.

Participation in the international workshop and the GOSEHR 2026 Summit marked an important step in the development of the medical informatics program at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The experience gained, international contacts established, and ideas developed will contribute to the further integration of modern digital technologies, medical data analysis, and artificial intelligence into the university’s educational programs and scientific research, as well as to the strengthening of international cooperation in the field of digital medicine.
