PARTICIPATION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION IN TECHNOLOGIES AND DESIGN IN THE PROFESSIONAL SEMINAR “THE QUALITY OF PSYCHOLOGICAL EDUCATION: CURRENT CHALLENGES AND PROSPECTS FOR DEVELOPMENT”

On March 31, 2026, a professional seminar titled “Quality of Psychological Education: Challenges of the Times and Prospects for Development” was held, organized by the National Agency for Higher Education Quality Assurance at the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management in partnership with the State Service for Education Quality of Ukraine. The event brought together over 100 representatives from 45 higher education institutions across 17 cities in Ukraine, including program coordinators, internal quality assurance specialists, experts, and other stakeholders in the field of psychology.

Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design was represented at the event by Alla Kolodyazhna, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, and Associate Professor of the Department of Professional Education in the Field of Technologies and Design.

The seminar began with an official opening ceremony attended by Andrii Butenko, Head of the National Agency; Ruslan Gurak, Head of the State Service for Educational Quality of Ukraine; and Rostyslav Shchokin, President of the Interregional Academy of Personnel Management (IAPM). During the event, key guidelines for the development of training for mental health professionals were outlined in the context of implementing the All-Ukrainian “How Are You?” program, presented by expert Anastasia Golotenko. Significant attention was paid to the alignment of formal requirements for educational programs with actual societal needs, particularly regarding the training of students majoring in “Psychology,” staffing for educational programs, as well as the results and trends of external assessment presented by Olena Yeremenko, Deputy Chair of the National Agency.

During the professional discussion, issues regarding the alignment of educational programs with labor market demands and professional standards were also raised, along with the need to strengthen the role of higher education students as full participants in quality assurance processes. Additionally, modern approaches to designing an effective curriculum architecture for the C4 “Psychology” major were presented. Special attention was paid to practices for structuring the logic of educational programs, defining competencies, and ensuring their alignment with contemporary challenges, as well as to the experience of implementing programs in the field of individual and community mental health.

Participation in the event contributed to expanding professional collaboration, summarizing best practices in the field of higher education quality assurance, and updating approaches to improving psychology education programs in line with contemporary societal demands and the requirements of the professional environment.
