On April 21, 2026, the Faculty of Design of KNUTD held a professional orientation event - "Career Day". Traditionally, in the spring, the Center for Labor and Career of KNUTD, together with the leadership of faculties and departments, hold events aimed at student employment.

Students of the educational programs of the Faculty of Design at the bachelor's and master's levels "Environmental Design", "Multimedia Design", "Clothing Design", "Graphic Design", "Design (by type)", "Costume Design" came to meet with successful designers who shared their experience in finding work and building a career in various areas of design.

The event was moderated by Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Design of the KNUTD.

The "Career Day" of the Faculty of Design was opened by Talyat Belyalov, Acting Rector of KNUTD, Doctor of Economics, Professor, who welcomed stakeholders, teachers and students of KNUTD and emphasized the importance of such events for student employment and understanding guidelines when forming a professional trajectory.

Oleksandra Olshanska, Vice-Rector for Scientific and Pedagogical Activities (Educational Activities) of KNUTD, Doctor of Economics, Professor, addressed future designers with wishes to study diligently, to use their student years to form skills that will contribute to building a successful career in the future.

Sofia Nikolaenko, designer of the Ukrainian anatomical clothing brand MAN’s SET, told the students present at the event about her own path to becoming and finding employment in the fashion industry. She especially noted the importance of practical training for students during their studies, which is a good start for their future profession.

Daryna Yakymenko, a graphic designer in the merchandising department of the furniture fittings and production services company VIYAR, spoke about the rules for compiling a resume and portfolio for successful employment. Ms. Daryna urged young designers not to be afraid and to try themselves in different areas of design.

Mykhailo Korobkov, the leader of the Bitmedia Labs design team, shared real-life cases and examples from his own career. The main message of his motivating speech was advice to acquire basic knowledge in the field of design, as well as related fields, study modern computer programs, and at the start of your career, complete various projects to gain experience.

Violetta Semenchenko, a leading interior designer at Hall Design Studio, told students about ways to find a job, and she also noted that you don't need to be afraid of rejection from employers and be able to convince them of your qualifications. Violetta showed examples of her own successful interior design projects and explained that a designer must be able to design, know technology and materials.

The event was motivating and useful for students who joined the meeting in a mixed mode.
