On May 1, 2026, the results of the All-Ukrainian Character Design Competition, which was held at the Khmelnytskyi National University (Khmelnytskyi), were announced.

The competition brought together students from various higher education institutions in Ukraine, who presented their own character designs for games, animation, and digital media. The works were judged on the originality of the idea, integrity of the image, expressiveness of character, and level of technical execution.

Among the winners are students of the Department of Multimedia Design of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, educational programs "Multimedia Design" and "Design (by type)", who won prizes in the nominations "Brand Character" and "Video Game Character".

First place — Anna TOCHENIUK, character "Explorer Iko".

First place is Sofiia RATUSHNIAK, the character of "Jet Lowell" (the heroine of the RPG video game).

2nd place — Lina Kulylkova, project "Gribbi".

2nd place — Kira SIZKO, character "Vilaya".

2nd place — Vladyslava ZARUBAIEVA, character "Las" (mascot of the social and charity store "Laska").

3rd place — Daria Malashenko, character "William" (police detective).

3rd place — Valeriia Tonkovyd, character "Valentine".

3rd place — Anastasiia Kurhanska, character "Christine Ains".

3rd place — Nikita Dragunov, character "Morven".

3rd place — Daria Chabanets, character "Death".

3rd place — Yaroslav SAMOYLOV, character «Mariia Teresa Francesca».

The competitive works of KNUTD students demonstrated a good level of preparation, creativity and ability to work with modern approaches to character design.
