On April 25, 2026, one of the key stages of the XXVII All-Ukrainian Competition of Young Fashion Designers “Looking into the Future” took place in the space of the Kyiv bookstore “Sens”, which this year is held under the theme “New Forms of Reality”. The goal of the national competition, launched in 2000, is to discover new names in Ukrainian fashion and support young talents at the beginning of their professional journey. Designers who already have at least three years of work or study experience in the field of fashion and have not reached the age of 28 are invited to participate. The competition program consists of three stages: selection of sketches by the jury, semi-finals and finals, where participants present their own collections. The evaluation of works is carried out by famous Ukrainian designers ‒ laureates of the Best Fashion Awards and members of the Ukrainian Fashion Council, which guarantees a high professional level of the competition.

This year's contestants' works were evaluated by leading Ukrainian fashion designers and members of the Ukrainian Fashion Council: Mariіa Нavryliuk (GUNIA Project), Nadіia Dzіak (NADYA DZYAK), Liliіa Litkovska (LITKOVSKA), Nataliіa Kamenska, Liliіa Pustovit (POUSTOVIT) and Ivan Frolov (FROLOV).

Based on the results of presentations and interviews with participants, the expert jury selected 12 finalists from 23 applicants.

The good news for our university was that Alina Mazur and Iryna Chernogry.tska, third-year students of the educational program "Fashion Design" at the Faculty of Design of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, made it to the finals of the competition.

This year’s competition is curated by Katia Silchenko, founder and designer of The COAT by Katia Silchenko. She will work with the finalists during a creative residency that will include meetings with industry experts, educational and cultural events. Young designers will receive professional advice on how to implement their ideas and complete their competition collections.

The development of the Ukrainian fashion industry ensures the continuity of generations, and the competition is an important component of this process," notes Iryna Danylevska, co-founder and CEO of Ukrainian Fashion Week.
