On April 28, 2026, a landmark international event – the Forum “European Dialogue: Culture. Cooperation. Future” – took place in Rome at Esperienza Europa – David Sassoli, hosted by the Office of the European Parliament. Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) was represented by the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries by Lidiia Koval, Head of the Department of Digital Art. In her address, Ms. Koval emphasized the importance of integrating digital technologies into contemporary cultural processes. She noted that digital art today serves not only as a tool of creative expression but also as a powerful means of intercultural communication that transcends geographical boundaries and creates new opportunities for international collaboration. She also expressed hope for a long-term and productive partnership between KNUTD and the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy, aimed at strengthening Ukrainian-European intercultural ties.

Initiated by the Department of Culture of the National Congress of Ukrainian Associations in Italy in cooperation with the Office of the European Parliament, the Forum brought together representatives of Ukrainian state institutions, international organizations, European cultural institutions, the academic community, artists, curators, and public figures. The organizers particularly highlighted the strong commitment to international cooperation demonstrated by leading Ukrainian academic institutions, including Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, as this opens new prospects for the development of joint educational programmes, academic research, artistic residencies, and international academic partnerships.

Thus, the Forum became not only a platform for dialogue but also a significant step toward forming a new European cultural network, strengthening international partnerships, and integrating Ukrainian cultural initiatives into the European space. At a time when culture is called upon to preserve memory, protect the dignity of nations, and pave the way toward the future, the Forum “European Dialogue: Culture. Cooperation. Future” delivered a strong and timely message to Rome: through art, education, and cooperation, Italy and Ukraine can build a sustainable bridge of friendship, mutual recognition, and shared European responsibility.
