On May 7, 2026, the XIth International Scientific and Practical Conference “Dialogue of Cultures in the European Education Space” was held at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. The event brought together scholars, educators, students, and representatives of the cultural and educational communities of Ukraine and other countries to discuss current issues of intercultural communication, translation studies, humanities, digitalization of education, and the development of creative industries in the context of contemporary global challenges.
The conference was initiated by Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design under the auspices of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. The event became an important platform for academic dialogue, exchange of professional experience, and strengthening of international academic cooperation.


The conference was organized by the academic staff of the Department of Philology and Translation and the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, who ensured a high scientific and organizational level of the event by creating a platform for professional intercultural and interdisciplinary dialogue.

The co-organizers of the conference included: Riga Technical University, National University of Uzbekistan, University of Granada, Kütahya Dumlupınar University, University of Málaga, Kryvyi Rih National University, National Academy of Culture and Arts Management, Kyiv National Linguistic University, M. T. Rylskyi Institute of Art Studies, Folklore and Ethnology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, and Berdyansk State Pedagogical University (Ukraine).
The conference brought together 234 participants from higher education institutions and research institutions of Ukraine, Spain, Latvia, Türkiye, Uzbekistan, and other countries. The topics of presentations and discussions covered a wide range of issues related to the development of humanities, translation activities, intercultural interaction, digital technologies, and contemporary cultural processes.
The conference moderator was Yana BOIKO, Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor, Head of the Department of Philology and Translation at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. In her welcoming speech, she emphasized the importance of intercultural academic dialogue, the development of international scientific cooperation, and the role of humanities studies in the modern European educational space.

The official opening of the conference began with welcoming speeches from representatives of the Ukrainian and international academic communities.
Welcoming addresses were delivered by: Talyat BIELIALOV, Doctor of Science in Economics, Professor, Acting Rector of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design; Oleksandra OLSHANSKA, Doctor of Science in Economics, Professor, Scientific and Pedagogical Activity of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design; and Iryna TRUSOVA, Honored Worker of Culture of Ukraine, Dean of the Faculty of Culture and Creative Industries at Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design.



International partners and representatives of leading higher education institutions and research organizations also addressed the conference participants:

Valerii MARCHENKO, PhD, Candidate of Art Studies, Professor, Honored Artist of Ukraine, Rector of the National Academy of Culture and Arts Management (Ukraine);
Nataliia STEFANOVA, Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor, Vice-Rector for Academic and Pedagogical Affairs (International Cooperation and Public Relations) of Kyiv National Linguistic University (Ukraine).




The speakers emphasized the importance of intercultural dialogue in the modern European educational space, the necessity of developing international partnerships, supporting humanities education and academic mobility, as well as the role of science and education in shaping a democratic and open society.
As part of the plenary session, a number of relevant scientific presentations were delivered. In particular, Roksolana POVOROZNIUK, Doctor of Philological Sciences, Professor at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, presented the report “Translation as Cultural Mediation in the European Educational Space: Negotiating Meaning, Identity, and Values,” devoted to the role of translation as a tool of intercultural interaction and formation of European values.

Volodymyr KUZMENKO, Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor at the National Academy of the Security Service of Ukraine, addressed literary aspects of phraseogram translation and the interpretation of cultural meanings in his presentation.

The issues of contemporary journalism education in Ukraine were highlighted in the presentation by Oleksandr SAVENKO, Honored Journalist of Ukraine, publicist, and public figure. The speaker focused on the challenges and prospects of journalism education in the context of the transformation of the information space.

Considerable interest was also aroused by the presentation of Halyna TSARYK, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Latin and Foreign Languages of Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, devoted to creativity in modern psychological podcasts through philosophical and semiotic approaches.

The conference operated within four thematic platforms:
1. “Humanities Studies in the Context of Globalization: Linguistics, Literary Studies, and Innovations in Education”
2. “Translation in the Communicative Space: Intercultural Communication, Professional Strategies, and Contemporary Challenges of Translation Activities”
3. “Digitalization, Engineering, and Economics: Innovative Technologies and Global Challenges of Modern Society”
4. “Interdisciplinary Dimensions of Art, Culture, and Creative Industries: Challenges of Globalization and Multicultural Environment”.








During the panel sessions, participants discussed current trends in the development of education and science, peculiarities of intercultural communication, the use of digital technologies in professional activities, current issues of translation studies, art, and cultural studies. Academic discussions demonstrated a high level of interest in the development of international academic cooperation and the search for new interdisciplinary approaches to the study of contemporary humanitarian processes.




Conference participants emphasized that the dialogue of cultures is an important factor in Ukraine’s integration into the European educational and scientific space, while the development of international cooperation contributes to the formation of an open academic environment based on mutual understanding, tolerance, and shared values.
The conference proceedings will be prepared following the results of the conference.
