During the Science Days celebration at KNUTD, fourth-year students from the BNT-22 group had the opportunity to examine the objects of their scientific research using an electron microscope at the G.V. Kurdyumov Institute of Metal Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Mykola Skoryk, head of the electron microscopy laboratory, explained the basic principles and operating modes of the high-resolution JEM-2000FXII electron microscope system manufactured by JEOL (Japan).

After an initial introduction to the microscope, the students proceeded to examine their own materials, which had been studied during their research work. The head of the laboratory demonstrated the technique for preparing samples for structural analysis under an electron microscope.

The structure of the materials, surface morphology, and the chemical composition of potential impurities were examined.

The opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment while writing their theses became a reality thanks to fruitful cooperation between the Department of Applied Physics and Higher Mathematics at KNUTD and the departments of the G.V. Kurdyumov Institute of Metal Physics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

A group of students majoring in Applied Physics and Nanomaterials, led by Department Head Iryna Oleтшkova, expressed their deep gratitude to Mr. Mykola for the results of the material analysis.
We look forward to further scientific collaboration.
