On May 21, 2026, the Mykola Gogol Library of the Holosiivskyi District Central Library System in Kyiv hosted a cultural and artistic event dedicated to Vyshyvanka Day and Kyiv City Day. The event harmoniously united art, music, traditions, and contemporary creativity.
At the heart of the event was an exhibition of creative works by Kateryna Dannyk and Yuriy Plesiuk. The exposition presented profound, emotionally charged works that combine traditional motifs with a modern artistic vision. Guests had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the authors' unique world, where Ukrainian identity, history, and spirituality found a new artistic expression. The Department of Performing Arts and Culture of the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design (KNUTD) was honorably represented by Kateryna Dannyk, PhD in Cultural Studies, Associate Professor, and Yuliia Makhotina, Lead Accompanist. Their participation highlighted the importance of cooperation between the university community and Kyiv's cultural institutions, as well as the active role of KNUTD in promoting Ukrainian art.

A live musical performance added a special charm to the event. Yuliia Makhotina created a cozy atmosphere blending art and music, enchanting the guests with her piano performance. The musical palette of the evening was harmoniously complemented by Vadym Vitvytskyi, while a vocal performance by Tetiana Stefanyshyn became a true highlight of the event.

The event was organized by the Mykola Gogol Library and the Non-Governmental Organization "Armenian Society for Cultural Relations AOKS 'Ukraine'", with the support of the NGO "Military Chaplains of Kyiv". The exhibition was curated by Olena Rabiy and moderated by Olena Oganesyan. The event became a vivid testament to the fact that traditions live and evolve, and that Vyshyvanka Day and Kyiv Day are not just holidays, but a powerful platform for dialogue between generations, artists, and everyone who takes pride in Ukrainian culture.
Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design continues to actively support and develop cultural initiatives that strengthen national identity and contribute to the promotion of Ukrainian art both in Ukraine and worldwide.
An important component of the event was a session of the "Indigo" student research group, which specializes in the analysis of the visual component of art. The members of the research group conducted a professional discussion of the exhibited artworks, examining the artistic techniques, symbolism, and visual language of the pieces, which allowed for a deeper exploration of their artistic essence.
