THE THIRD ANNIVERSARY OF THE CIVIL SOCIETY ORGANIZATION “NEW RESPONSIBLE GOVERNANCE”: A PLATFORM FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF FUTURE POLITICAL SCIENTISTS AND LEGAL PROFESSIONALS

On May 30, students of the Law and Political Science educational programs of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design participated in events dedicated to the third anniversary of the Civil Society Organization (CSO) “New Responsible Governance.” The occasion served as an important platform for constructive dialogue among representatives of civil society, youth communities, educational and cultural institutions, and students actively engaged in processes of social development.

Over the course of its three years of operation, the CSO “New Responsible Governance” has implemented numerous initiatives aimed at promoting democratic values, supporting civic engagement, fostering responsible leadership, and encouraging youth participation in socially significant decision-making processes. Therefore, participation in the anniversary celebration provided students of Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design with an excellent opportunity to expand their professional knowledge, establish communication with representatives of civil society organizations, and become acquainted with successful practices in the implementation of social projects.

Among the distinguished guests of the event were representatives of the Kyiv City Youth Council, the Director of the Museum of the Volunteer Movement, representatives of the All-Ukrainian Public Organization “Territory of Women,” the Director of the “Atiudyky” Educational Center, as well as representatives of the civil society organization Let’s Do It Ukraine. In their presentations, the participants shared their experience in implementing civic initiatives, discussed current challenges facing the development of civil society in Ukraine, and outlined prospects for cooperation with young people.

Particular attention during the meeting was devoted to the role of the younger generation in shaping a democratic state, developing local self-government, promoting volunteerism, and strengthening civic participation. The speakers emphasized that young people are a driving force behind positive social change and that their involvement in the activities of civil society organizations contributes to the development of active citizenship, leadership skills, and professional competencies.

For students specializing in Law and Political Science, participation in the event became a valuable practical experience. Future legal professionals and political scientists had the opportunity to communicate with representatives of leading civil society organizations, ask questions regarding the specifics of civic engagement, the implementation of social projects, and mechanisms of cooperation between civil society organizations and public authorities, including local self-government bodies.

A particularly noteworthy moment of the event was the presentation of a Certificate of Appreciation to Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design by the CSO “New Responsible Governance” in recognition of the University’s support, active participation in civic initiatives, and contribution to fostering a culture of volunteerism, mutual assistance, and social responsibility. This distinction reflects the effective cooperation between the University and the civil society sector and confirms the active role of KNUDT students and academic staff in implementing socially significant projects.

The award serves not only as a token of gratitude to the University community but also as evidence that meaningful progress in the development of Ukraine’s civil society can be achieved through the joint efforts of educational institutions, civil society organizations, and young people.

The staff of the Department of Private and Public Law expresses its sincere gratitude to the organizers of the event and personally to Veronika Burminova for inviting the University’s students to participate in the celebration of the third anniversary of the CSO “New Responsible Governance.” We are confident that continued cooperation between the University and civil society organizations will contribute to the development of active, responsible, and highly qualified young professionals capable of effectively contributing to Ukraine’s future.
