On June 9, 2026, on behalf of the university management, Kalyna Pashkevych, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Design, presented KNUTD at a large-scale event that brought together representatives of light industry from all over Ukraine.
The event, organized on the initiative of the Association "Ukrlegprom" with the support of the Volyn Regional State Administration, was held at the base of PrJSC "Edelvika" on the eve of the professional holiday - Day of Light Industry Workers.




The meeting was attended by government representatives: Roman Romaniuk, Head of the Volyn Regional State Administration, Oksana Levchuk, Head of the Main Directorate of the State Tax Service in the Volyn region, Anna Nowakowska, Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Lutsk, and other dignitaries.
During the opening, a congratulatory letter from Yuliia Svyrydenko, Prime Minister of Ukraine, was read to the participants. In her address, she emphasized the important role of light industry, which currently not only provides the domestic market, but also works for the needs of the defense sector and contributes to strengthening the state's economy.
Oleksiy Sobolev, Minister of Economy, Environment and Agriculture of Ukraine, addressed the industry workers with a welcoming speech in video format, emphasizing the significant contribution of light industry enterprises to the development of national production and noting their strategic role in ensuring and supporting the economic stability of the state.
President and Chairman of the Board of the "Ukrlegkprom" Association, Tetyana Izovit, presented a report on the current state of Ukraine's light industry.

During the event, reports were also made: "From a European project to Ukrainian realities: how METASKILLS4TCLF forms specialists of the future for light industry", Hanna Shchutska, director of the Kyiv Professional College of Applied Sciences (KPCAS); "Social and strategic vector of the industry: Man after the war: from rehabilitation to full integration into production", Igor Dubinin, director of the NGO "Rehabilitation Forces of Ukraine"; "AI from sketch to finished product: speed as a competitive advantage", Iryna Daus, R&D director of INTELLTEX, and there were speeches by other interesting speakers.



The event was attended by representatives of many enterprises in the industry - manufacturers of textile products and clothing, suppliers of raw materials and equipment: PrJSC "Edelvika", LLC "IKOS-STYLE", PrJSC "Kalyna", LLC "RITO", LLC "Intelltex", PE "Company "Softtorg", PrJSC "Goryn", PrJSC "Cherkasy Silk Mill", LLC "Valtex", LLC "Velltex-Ukraine", LLC "K.TEX", LLC "TOP-TEX" and others. The event was also attended by representatives of the Kyiv Professional College of Applied Sciences, Volyn National University named after Lesya Ukrainka, Lutsk National Technical University, Kalyniv Technological Professional College, Khmelnytskyi National University and Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design. Representatives of light industry from different regions of Ukraine gathered to discuss the future of the industry and important issues of its development.

The event program included familiarizing participants with the activities of leading enterprises of the Volyn region - PJSC "Edelvika" and the shoe factory "Ikos". During the visits, the participants of the meeting were shown production facilities, modern equipment and organization of technological processes.


Also, as part of the visit to Lutsk, a meeting was held with the leadership, teachers and students of the Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University.
