LECTURE BY EUGENE RYABENKI (MOLDOVA) FOR STUDENT DESIGNERS

On May 7, 2026, the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, as part of the “Ukrainian Design and Innovation Week (UDIW) ”, hosted a lecture entitled “Contemporary artistic practice: interactive textile and fashion print design” by Eugene Ryabenki, a clothing designer and lecturer at the Chisinau State Pedagogical University named after Ion Creange (Moldova).

The lecturer spoke about the cyanotype technique as a method of decorating clothing, textiles, and other objects.

The lecturer used specific examples to show that integrating photography into the process of creating textile prints is an important area of research and development in the field of fashion design and modern decor. In his opinion: "The introduction of cyanotype technique into university, postgraduate education and creative workshops as a methodology for developing creativity can significantly contribute to the formation of critical thinking and a research approach in future designers."

Eugene Ryabenki told and showed on slides the sequence and described the stages of creating images using the cyanotype method on clothing, textile products, hats, etc. An important aspect of this technique, according to the lecturer, is its role in the processing and rethinking of clothing items, giving them a second life and new potential for use.

The lecture was attended by students of the OP "Fashion Design" and lecturers of the Faculty of Design.

We sincerely thank the lecturer, Eugene Ryabenki, for an interesting lecture!
