On May 20, 2026, at the Kyiv National University of Technologies and Design, at the Department of Fashion and Style, the Open Day of the international grant project of the European Union under the Creative Europe program «FashionTEX – European Academy for Young Designers to Study Innovative Technologies in Digital Fashion Design».

The event became an important platform for introducing KNUTD students to the opportunities offered by participation in an international educational project aimed at developing digital competencies in the field of design and clothing design.
During the meeting, students and academic staff learned about the key stages of the FashionTEX project, its international component, and the professional development prospects it provides to students. Special attention was paid to modern digital technologies in fashion design, in particular the use of 3D modeling tools to create virtual clothing collections.
The Open Day was preceded by a training course on studying the CLO3D software, the license for which was provided to the University as part of a grant project, which allowed participants to gain practical skills in digital design and visualization of clothing. The knowledge gained will become an important basis for further work within the project.
During the Open Day, students who wished to participate in the next stages of the grant project presented the concepts of their works, as a result of which two of them were selected for further participation in the project.

The next stage for the selected participants will be online training, during which students will deepen their knowledge in the field of digital fashion design, innovative technologies and international team cooperation.
After completing the online stage, project participants will have a unique opportunity in early September to undergo a two-week intensive practical training at MakerSpace on the basis of the Latvian Academy of Arts (Riga, Latvia) for the project grant funds. There, students will work in an international environment with representatives of partners from 11 European countries, exchange experience with them and apply the acquired knowledge in practice.
The Open Day aroused considerable interest among students, who actively joined the discussion, asked questions and showed high motivation to participate in the project. FashionTEX opens up new opportunities for young designers, combining creativity, innovation and international cooperation, which is extremely important for the development of modern fashion education in Ukraine.
