SUCCESSFUL DEFENSE OF THE DISSERTATION OF RAMIL VAKHITOV FOR THE DEGREE OF DOCTOR OF PHILOSOPHY IN CHEMICAL TECHNOLOGY AND ENGINEERING: LATEST DEVELOPMENTS IN FIRE PROTECTION TECHNOLOGIES

On July 29, 2026, the defense of the dissertation work of Ramil VAKHITOV, a 4th-year graduate student of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving, for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in specialty 161 Chemical Technologies and Engineering, took place. Under the supervision of Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Industrial Pharmacy, Volodymyr BESSARABOV, he completed and successfully defended his dissertation work on the topic "Development of technology for a reactive-type polymer fire-retardant coating with improved rheological properties".

The defense took place in a one-time specialized academic council, which included: chairman – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving of KNUTD Viktoriia PLAVAN; reviewers - Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving of KNUTD Volodymyr KHOMENKO and Candidate of Technical Sciences, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Chemical Technologies and Resource Saving of KNUTD Oleksandr SLEPTSOV; official opponents – Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor, Professor of the Department of Radiation and Chemical Protection of the National University of Civil Defense of Ukraine Olha SKORODUMOVA and Doctor of Philosophy, Associate Professor of the Department of Building Materials of the Kyiv National University of Construction and Architecture Oleksiy TSAPKO.

The dissertation research of Ramil VAKHITOV is distinguished by a high level of relevance both in the context of the development of modern scientific knowledge and in view of its practical significance. The work developed a technology of reactive intumescent coating with improved rheological properties, which provides a fire resistance limit of steel structures of at least 150 minutes and has a projected service life of up to 25 years.

In terms of fire-retardant efficiency and rheological properties, the developed intumescent coating is not inferior to foreign analogues and, after certification tests, can be used at critical infrastructure facilities, as well as in the defense and strategic sectors, where there is a possibility of fires occurring under hydrocarbon scenarios.

The members of the one-time specialized academic council noted that Ramil VAKHITOV's dissertation is an interesting and original research, which was carried out at a high scientific and technical level and, in terms of its relevance, degree of novelty, formulation and method of solving the questions posed, theoretical and practical basis, and validity of the results obtained, it complies with the specialty 161 "Chemical Technologies and Engineering", the requirements of the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated January 12, 2022 No. 44 "On Approval of the Procedure for Awarding the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy and Cancellation of the Decision of the One-Time Specialized Academic Council of an Institution of Higher Education, a Scientific Institution on Awarding the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy".

We sincerely thank the members of the one-time specialized academic council for their high professionalism, objective assessment of the dissertation work and its high scientific assessment.

Congratulations to Ramil VAKHITOV and his scientific supervisor Volodymyr BESSARABOV on this significant event! We wish Ramil Azatovych inexhaustible inspiration, new scientific achievements, professional growth, successful implementation of innovative ideas and promising research projects. May the receipt of the degree of Doctor of Philosophy become an important step towards new discoveries, international recognition and a significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian science.

We wish the scientific supervisor Volodymyr BESSARABOV further success in scientific and scientific-pedagogical activities, new talented students, fruitful work and further significant achievements in the training of young scientists.
